Well played Serge Aurier. Sarr gets down the right and chips in a cross that has two Watford man converging, but the Spurs defender rises highest to head away.

Capoue follows up on the edge of the box but before he can shoot, Harry Winks sticks out a boot to take the ball away from him.

Adam Kitchiner: This Spurs side is depressing to watch. No energy, no passion, no pressing, no ball winners. Mourinho out.

Stephen MPC Brogarth: Dele Ali isn’t very good. That’s all

Chance. It is a proper sight of goal for Deeney, who is picked out in the box by Chalobah. He has loads of space but is deep in the box and can't generate the power or direction to beat Gazzaniga.

Son eyes a real worldy as he is picked out in the box by a lobbed pass. The forward goes for a first-time volley but fires the ball high over the bar.

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Fulham keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

When Tottenham have looked to break quickly Watford have been really good at breaking that play up.

They have been winning most of the 50-50 challenges. In that instance Capoue was a split-second late, but they have done really well to break up play and Spurs have found it difficult to get out of their half.

I was assuming Michael Oliver's walk over to the touchline was for the monitor, which is why I was getting excited. But it wasn't the moment of history I was waiting for - it was just a problem with his communication. VAR looked to be deliberating something but he couldn't hear them.

Controversial opinion but Aurier although rash is one of our best players.

    Tom, Northampton

To the spurs fans digging out Eriksen, you had one of the very best creative midfielders for 3/4 seasons paying him half the money he could have got at the bigger clubs, count yourselves lucky and wish him well, you won't replace him easily.

    Sam Parkin
Former Luton Town forward on BBC Radio London

Watford have been really energetic, they have been so compact defensively. They look so well organised and Spurs do not look like they know how to break them down.

Big chance. Great save. Dele Alli collects the ball and feeds in Lucas Moura down the right. He charges into the box and has just the keeper to beat, but Foster is out quickly to block.

Tom McQuillin: Can someone show me the rule where a studs-up scrape down someone’s leg isn’t a red card? I must have missed that rule-change...

Ollie: What on earth?! It was only by good luck that the Capoue challenge wasn't a leg-breaker. If Tanganga's leg had been planted, it would've been. Surely the tackle itself merited a red?

Skully: Why is it referees are always telling players to hurry up when getting substituted but whenever they have to check the monitor or change their whistle they slowly walk off the pitch? Moment in the spotlight?

Capoue is into the book now. He slides in and sends a Spurs man spinning. Could have been shown yellow earlier and needs to be very careful now.

Christian Eriksen has been one of Spurs best players over the last 6 seasons. Anyone saying any different hasn't been living on this planet.

Son on the left, Sun on the right - both causing issues.

Sarr's low ball into the box from the right is towards Deeney, but his flick can't steer the ball towards goal. Deulofeu on the other side sees a shot deflected behind.

The corner is short, then swung in and finally punched away by Gazzaniga.

Oh, almost. Son finds a yard and fires a shot that takes a deflection and loops towards the corner of the net. Not quickly enough, though, as Foster is able to adjust and save.

Oh, that is a risky tackle. Ettiene Capoue drives his foot in and downwards, catching the ball first but also then the man. VAR do have a look but they're happy for no further action to be taken beyond a free-kick, it seems.

Michael Oliver does need to come to the touchline, though. He has a problem with his communication kit.

Lucas Moura spins in the box and fires a rasping shot that is blocked almost at source by Craig Dawson. There are more shouts for handball, but the ref isn't interested.
