What a save this is from De Gea - he was going the wrong way but sticks a big boot out.

Two minutes of injury time to be added. In fact, we're into them already.

    Good save, De Gea.

Mane is away from his marker on the edge of the box and shoots low, but it is sent spinning over the goal by the boot of the United keeper.

    Liverpool 1-0 Man Utd

United having their best little period of the game now after that chance, seeing a bit more of the ball.

Pereira breaks forward and shoots from 20 yards, but Alisson is behind it and saves.

    Liverpool 1-0 Man Utd

How are Man Utd not level?

The ball is chipped to the back post, where Aaron Wan-Bissaka is totally free. He could have fired the ball in, but instead steers it back across goal for Andreas Pereira to, in theory, see the ball home. He makes a right old mess of it, though, and the ball goes wide.

Looks like he went with his wrong foot. Regardless, it is a total waste of United's best chance. By far.

What a decision from the linesman there, so tight and he got it spot on, who needs VAR...

If you can't beat them, barge them unceremoniously off the pitch with your shoulder.

Salah feels the full force of Shaw as he is sent tumbling towards the boards.

Soon after, we have a collector's item - a Man Utd shot, which comes from Anthony Martial but swings harmlessly wide.

They worked it brilliantly Liverpool. Really good, slick football. Robertson's ball into Firmino and a clever flick, but he's just off. Very tight. He just goes fractionally early.

Josh Hammond: It's a sad thing that as a united fan every time I check on the scoreline I expect Liverpool to have scored another goal. It's not a matter of if Liverpool score another but when, and how many?

Mark Thompson: Craig Pawson having a shocker so far. Being far too influenced by the Anfield crowd and Liverpool players. Terrible to see in such a game.

Zeb Bowyer: The left hand side is a disaster for United. Why Wan-Bissaka isn’t playing RCB and Shaw and Williams Left wing-back and Right wing-back I have no idea. Clueless tactics from Ole. Craig Pawson is having a shocker

  10. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 37 mins

    Liverpool 1-0 Man Utd

Oh, that would have been a stunning goal.

Robertson's pass inside is flicked back to Oxlade-Chamberlain, whose cutting, incisive pass into the box finds Wijnaldum for a neat finish into the far bottom corner.

Flag is up, though, and VAR backs it up. He was very, very narrowly ahead of his man. By an armpit, you could say.

Bob Moss: I am no fan of Liverpool, think they are overrated, by that was a goal. De Gea needs to go pick his dummy up.

Paul: MUFC players have always thought that they were allowed to harass the ref when any decision goes against them. How come it is only 1 yellow card.

Ash Williams: The Van Djik challenge was a CLEAR & OBVIOUS hands by his side fair challenge.

Almost an opening for Fred, but no sooner has he charged into a dangerous spot on the edge of the box he is relieved of possession. Wasn't decisive enough. Shoot or play the pass.

Wow did that just happen. Liverpool had a goal disallowed by VAR. Don't worry though they will make it up to them later.

    Nick, Leicester

I believe goalkeepers are protected too much. But rules are rules. Rightly disallowed by VAR.

If De Gea got carded for dissent in relation to the goal which then got chalked off why does his yellow card still stand?

Liverpool's "goal" may have been ruled out but you get the feeling there will be another one along in a minute.

Manchester United are currently struggling to get out of their own half.
