Dave Payn: Should Solksjaer shoulder some responsibility for Rashford? There seemed to be an existing injury, OGS said 'We had to go for the win' and now he's out for three months with a stress fracture.

Klopp wants fresh legs in midfield. Adam Lallana should in theory bring some control and he replaces Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Lallana was the scorer at Old Trafford earlier in the season, earning Liverpool a point.

Phil: For all of our domination we need to get a firm grip of this game or Manchester United will find a way back into this.

Ricology: LFC need to be more clinical, that dominance need to be converted to goals. ManUtd can benefit from any loose ball & get an equaliser.

That is an absolute sledgehammer for Manchester United. You can see this afternoon how much they are missing Marcus Rashford, such an influential player. Gareth Southgate is here today. What would be the impact on England now? Harry Kane out now Rashford out?

Another good Liverpool chance goes begging. Mane is away, picking up a pass from Wijnaldum. But he has Lindelof for company and the United defender does enough to prevent a decent shot. Instead the trickling effort, goes past the far post.

Just one goal in this game. Mad.

Been a Utd fan all my life this is just heartbreaking we're a shambles and OGS couldn't coach a slug to eat a bedding plant, he's clueless and way out of his depth.

    Oh wow!

Anthony Martial has to score. He simply has to. He muscles his way between Gomez and Alexander-Arnold but with just Alisson to beat he smashes his effort over.

    He snatched at it.

Will United get a better chance in the rest of this game?

Whatever Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said to Manchester United at half-time has had little impact.

They have been virtually non-existent as Liverpool have swarmed all over them.

Manchester United are hanging on - just - but they need to find some threat and they can barely get the ball.

After all that, Manchester United could easily be level.

Fred runs and runs until he is on the edge of the Liverpool box, with a sight of goal. His shot, though, is poor and skips wide.

A warning to Liverpool, if needed, that United are still in this game.

The truth is, if this was a boxing match this would be stopped. This is an absolute mauling, but somehow United are just about hanging in there.

Firmino sends Wan-Bissaka into next month with a series of twists and turns on the left side of the box. His shot, when it comes, is blocked.

I love football fans. I support Everton so, if it were possible, I would like them both to lose. To the MU fans that refuse to accept reality, Liverpool should be 3-0 up. You're only slightly better than us. And to anyone who thinks Liverpool are overrated, 2 points dropped out of 63.

    Colin Fordham

The desperation among some Man Utd fans for any crumb of comfort is something to behold. The fact is Liverpool are a far better football team in every area of the pitch and are bound to be for the foreseeable future.

Maguire heads the corner clear but Liverpool come again and Alexander-Arnold prompts calls for handball against Shaw with his cross.

It did hit Shaw's hand but he was at point-blank range to the cross and had turned his back completely. VAR didn't even bother checking it.
