Oh no Mo, he's got to score there. Has the goal at his mercy on his favoured left foot. You are expecting the back of the net to bulge and he mis-hit it. Could that be a defining moment in this game.

What a save. Seriously. What. A. Save.

David de Gea sticks out a hand and with his very finger ends tips a shot from Jordan Henderson on to the post.

    Brilliant.

Liverpool have come out all guns blazing.

Mane is the latest man to miss, firing over from inside the box.

  4. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Liverpool 1-0 Man Utd

    Wait... what?

Mo Salah has just missed from eight yards out, without another player around him.

The ball is played across the box, missed by a Man Utd defender and falls straight to the feet of the Egyptian, who kicks it against his own boot and sends it wide.

    Unbelievable miss.

First chance of the half goes to Liverpool, as Jordan Henderson's strike from the edge of the box is blocked. It looked to be heading goalwards.

I love reading comments from all the United fans who think they are playing well. Goes to show how far your standards have dropped. Liverpool have not even moved out of 2nd gear.

    Azar, London

Van Dijk's goal should've been disallowed due to him having Virgil on the back of his shirt. Really bugs me that certain players have their first names on their shirt. You wouldn't get someone with Dave on their shirt. And don't get me started on Chicarito.

Stat attack: The only 2 defeats Liverpool have had this season were on the 17th (sept and Dec 19). The next time Liverpool play on the 17th is last game of the season away to Newcastle.

  11. 'There's no one more disappointed than Jamie not to score'published at 17:30 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2020

    Burnley 2-1 Leicester

    Leicester City

More from Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, speaking to Sky Sports: "The performance merited a win, but it wasn't to be so you have to accept that in this game. There's no magic formula, it's a case of going away, working hard and working on the basics of the game. Do all the dirty work, that's what gets your confidence back. On to Wednesday night now."

On Jamie Vardy's missed penalty: "Jamie is a fantastic goalscorer and has shown all season his ability both in the game and from penalties. The goalkeeper makes a good save, there's no one more disappointed than Jamie not to score but he will always step up to take it. Sometimes you miss penalties but we had enough other chances to win the game."

  12. 'We know what a top class goalkeeper Pope is'published at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2020

    Burnley 2-1 Leicester

    Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche speaking to Sky Sports: "I think the mentality was key. We spoke before the game about the tough run of results we have had recently. I thought the performance was the main thing because we had to get to that start point, but we got the result as well so very pleased overall.

"I thought the first half performance was generally good so there was just minor adjustments at half-time and I thought second half we really took the game on.

"Every season is a massive season for us. It's likely that teams like ours will have a tough run of results. We have had that and we have come out of it today. It's more about the mentality and getting to the point where we can affect teams and I thought we were at that level today."

On performance of Nick Pope: "He's a top goalkeeper, he saved a penalty which is the obvious big moment, but he continues to do well and he bounces out of situations. We know what a top class keeper he is."

  13. 'You have to get the basics right'published at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2020

    Burnley 2-1 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers speaking to Sky Sports: "It's an easy game to analyse. We were clearly the better team, took the lead and created a lot of chances. But it was down to their goalkeeper having a good game and us missing opportunities.

"And then for the (second) goal we conceded, Westwood has run off our midfield, and that's the basics you have to get right in football. So if you are not going to win the game you have to do the dirty work and his (Westwood's) desire to score was greater than our desire to defend.

"I think we started the second half well, we were the dominant team and looked dangerous. They are very good on set pieces so sometimes that can happen. But of course from that we still got chances to score. Unfortunately in wasn't to be, it's disappointing but we have to move on now and get ready for Wednesday."

  14. 'A big sign of moving forward'published at 17:26 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2020

    Burnley 2-1 Leicester

    Burnley

Burnley boss Sean Dyche, speaking to BBC Sport: "We're really pleased. It was a deserved win in different ways. We had some question marks around us recently, which is kind of a backhanded compliment. There was a a big sign of moving forward with that performance.

"We know what we are about and we reminded the group of that this week. But there was good play today. We asked different questions. The performance was important to me as a manager not just the win.

"The fans play their part. We have moved the club on and there will be questions marks. But there was no overreaction to them scoring and then they got right behind the team."

On Nick Pope: "He is a good keeper. A top keeper who is still learning."

  15. 'We were the better team'published at 17:22 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2020

    Burnley 2-1 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, speaking to BBC Sport: "From a coaching and managing perspective it is easy to analyse. We were the better team and created opportunities. We led through a good goal. It gave us the lift. We could have passed it better.

Started the second half well but stopped playing and it led to a bit of pressure, the corner and their first goal. We still had opportunities and their keeper makes a number of great saves. The real disappointment is the second goal we concede. He had more desire to go score than we had to track the run.

"We all know the rules now and that VAR will check it. When you take penalties you will miss them. He (Jamie Vardy) has some chances he would normally put away but he didn't but that is one of the rare times this has happened.

"We just need to work hard. There is no magic formula. We showed tiredness over Christmas. We were better today in our game but still we have to improve. But that is what these boys have done over my time here."

This Liverpool love in misses the fact that this Utd team are without their best attacking threat (Rashford), their best creative midfielder (Pogba) and their best defensive midfielder (McTominay) and are still in it. Utd will catch Liverpool next season, their star is already waning.

I wish Man Utd just never played well, I'd prefer to give up completely than continually have hope and be let down!

Plenty of action, but just one goal. VAR intervened once, the assistant's flag also.

But as it stands, the game still has life in it.
