    He didn't look as if he had the belief or the pace to bare down on goal at an angle and have a strike - he was five or 10 yards clear.

    A speculative cross is swung in from the Cyprus left wing and it curls around the entire Scotland defensive line, where it finds Dimitris Theodorou at the back post. The forward has plenty of time and space to test David Marshall at the back post but he nervously hits an outstretched shot and it goes wide. Another chance for Cyprus falls in favour of the visitors.

    Ryan Christie swings a free-kick in front the right flank and the Cyprus goalkeeper completely misses the ball. There should have then been a scramble in the box but the referee thinks Oli McBurnie obstructed the keeper. The striker throws his hands up in frustration. He hasn't really got going since he came on.
