Just when you think it's going for St Johnstone Murray Davidson does that. He's nowhere near the ball, the red card is warranted

  5. 'Longer it says 1-0, you never know...'published at 16:23

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

I think we've all played in games like this, when you're in total control but have only taken the one chance. The longer it stays 1-0 you just never know what will happen...

  6. Hedges fluffs his linespublished at 64 mins

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

Another chance for Aberdeen but Ryan Hedges blazes his effort high and wide of goal. A second Dons goal would surely kill this game.

However, it remains 1-0 to the visitors as we enter the final 25 minutes at McDiarmid Park.

  7. 'Confidence drained from Saints'published at 16:18

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

    Quote Message

St Johnstone may still end up getting something out this game, but it doesn't look like it at all. They look like the confidence has been drained out them

  8. Aberdeen in controlpublished at 60 mins

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

Half an hour remaining at McDiarmid Park and Aberdeen appear in total control. A goal to the good and keeper Joe Lewis has been a virtual spectator.

Can St Johnstone find a spark, and an equaliser, from somewhere?

  9. 'Dons dominant'published at 57 mins

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at McDiarmid Park

Aberdeen utterly dominant so far in this second half, all the possession, and looking very dangerous, but still just the one goal to show for it. As long as it stays like that, St Johnstone still have a chance.

  10. 'Duffy or Kerr need experienced head with them'published at 16:11

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

    Billy Dodds
    Former Scotland striker on Sportsound

    Quote Message

For me, Wallace Duffy or Jason Kerr should be playing with an experienced head. I feel for them. The uncertainty is rubbing off on others

Curtis Main's day is done. The striker, who looks far from a happy camper, trudges off to be replaced by Craig Bryson.

  13. Cosgove threatenspublished at 50 mins

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

Aberdeen goalscorer Sam Cosgrove tussles with St Johnstone defender Wallace Duffy and the striker is the one to miss out as the youngster ushers the ball out of play for a goal-kick.

  14. 'Wright will be looking for response'published at 16:04

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

Aberdeen have started the second half well without making a chance. There is plenty of intent in their play. On the other hand, Tommy Wright will be looking for a response. I think Stevie May looks a lonely figure up there, he needs a partner

  15. St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeenpublished at 47 mins

Aberdeen central defender Scott McKenna is coolness personified as he mops up a St Johnstone attack, playing the ball back to keeper Joe Lewis, who launches the ball downfield and into the darkening Perth sky.

  16. St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeenpublished at 46 mins

The Dons, with their tails up, press immediately for a second goal. St Johnstone face a stern test to get back into this game.

  18. 'Only one team trying to play the right way'published at 15:56

    FT: Hamilton 1-3 Rangers

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is pleased to remain level on points with league leaders Celtic but knows there is room for improvement.

"You saw two sides of us today. You saw our quality but at times I'm not happy with certain things about us defensively. We need to be better than that.

"I thought we were good in patches. We scored three goals and it's an away win, so lots of positives to take. We just weren't ruthless enough in the final third and we didn't kill the game off quickly enough for my liking and that leads to a bit of nerves at the end.

"On the back of an international break, with people all over the place and preparation being different, we'll certainly take 3-1 on the road. We could have scored more goals and Hamilton did well to stay in the game but we were much the better team. There was only one team trying to play the right way."

  19. 'Aberdeen in command and deserve lead'published at 15:52

    HT: St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

    Billy Dodds
    Former Scotland striker on Sportsound

    Quote Message

All the goalscoring opportunities have came from Aberdeen. You worry for St Johnstone every time Aberdeen go forward. Aberdeen are in command they deserve their lead

  20. Kent at the double for Rangerspublished at 15:49

    FT: Hamilton 1-3 Rangers

Earlier on, Ryan Kent fired in two great strikes to give Rangers all three points at Hamilton.

The first was an absolute corker and opened his account for the season.

"To get myself off the mark with a goal like that is a big positive," the winger told RangersTV.

"Scoring is not everything for me but I'm happy to get two goals and hopefully I can go on a good run. My performances are what I take most pride in, as long as I'm putting in 10 out 10 in terms of effort week in, week out, I'm more than happy."
