  1. Can Kennedy get Saints back into this?published at 15:47

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

I'm sure Tommy Wright will be encouraging his players to get it out wide to Matty Kennedy because I think he can get St Johnstone back into the game, but Aberdeen are looking a threat every time they go up the park

  2. 'Aberdeen deserve their lead'published at 15:46

    HT: St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland in McDiarmid Park

A good open game in Perth so far, Aberdeen are deserving of their lead courtesy of the clinical Sam Cosgrove, they've had a couple of other great chances too.

But Saints are still very much alive, they've responded well to going a goal down and with the tricky Matty Kennedy certainly looking in the mood, Tommy Wright will still feel his side can get something out of this game.

  5. 'Inexperienced' Saints paying the pricepublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2019

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

You cannot believe the inexperience out there. You can seriously understand how St Johnstone are leaking goals

  6. Blunt in attackpublished at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2019

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

Sam Cosgrove's goal has been the difference so far between the teams, but a real lack of clinical edge is clear to see for the hosts. St Johnstone have had plenty of the ball in the last 10 minutes but look out of ideas when they get near the Aberdeen box.

Tommy Wright will be keen to get them in at the break to try to find a solution in attack.

  7. 'Cosgrove has became great signing for Aberdeen'published at 15:34 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2019

    Billy Dodds
    Former Scotland striker on Sportsound

    Quote Message

It's not just his goals, Cosgrove's full game has come together. His link-up play and his intelligence. He's become a great signing for Aberdeen

  8. 'A magnificent strike from a player that can't stop scoring'published at 15:28

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

I've seen him score some magnificent goals and that's right up there. He sets it up from himself with a delicate flick. I think it's taken Zander Clark by surprise. A magnificent strike from a player that can't stop scoring

You just wonder how the referee didn't see it [handball from Duffy]. Whether it's intentional or not, the arm is in an unnatural position

  10. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 23 mins

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

Aberdeen want a penalty for handball. Wallace Duffy clearly handles in the box as Curtis Main is poised to head home.

However, referee Kevin Clancy gives a goal-kick to St Johnstone, much to Aberdeen's disbelief after Niall McGinn fizzes an effort wide, and St Johnstone survive.

"It's what penalties are given for," booms BBC Sportsound pundit Willie Miller.

Cos and effect! Sam Cosgrove breaks the deadlock in stunning fashion as he collects a long ball, steadies himself before arrowing a left-shoot low into the bottom corner.

Zander Clark was helpless. We have a goal!

"He just can't stop scoring," purrs BBC Sportsound pundit Willie Miller.

  12. 'Anything going wide might trouble Dons'published at 15:18

    St Johnstone 0-0 Aberdeen

    Billy Dodds
    Former Scotland striker on Sportsound

    Quote Message

Scott McKenna has had to be quick in speed of thought. That's twice he's had to cut out attacks down the channel. He's read the game pretty well. Anything going wide from St Johnstone looks like it might cause Aberdeen trouble

  13. Dons sluggishpublished at 17 mins

    St Johnstone 0-0 Aberdeen

Aberdeen have the chance to pressure St Johnstone's goal but Curtis Main fluffs his lines and the ball trundles out for a goal-kick.

The game's crying out for a bit of skill to brighten the Perth sky...

  14. St Johnstone 0-0 Aberdeenpublished at 15 mins

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at McDiarmid Park

A very open game so far, both teams with plenty of possession, Saints knocking it about pretty well, with Matty Kennedy in particular, their major threat.

  15. St Johnstone 0-0 Aberdeenpublished at 12 mins

The hosts work the ball well from left to right as they seek to stretch Aberdeen. Anthony Ralston whips in a cross from the right but it's just out of Murray Davidson's reach.

  16. 'Poor defending' from Saintspublished at 15:11

    St Johnstone 0-0 Aberdeen

    Billy Dodds
    Former Scotland striker on Sportsound

    Quote Message

The St Johnstone defence let it bounce [before Shay Logan's shot]. The one thing you've got to do in situations like that is clear your lines. It's really poor defending, you can see why they've been in trouble this year

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 9 mins

    St Johnstone 0-0 Aberdeen

The opening 10 minutes has seen St Johnstone dominate but Shay Logan comes within a whisker of giving the visitors the lead.

But the right-back's effort is well saved by Zander Clark.

Another attack by St Johnstone, but striker Stevie May is flagged offside despite finding space between Aberdeen's central defence.
