    Quote Message

It's a really poor pass from Lewis Smith. He just needed to clip it with the outside of the foot. If he done that Mickel Miller is through one-on-one with Allan McGregor

  2. Hosts spurn openingpublished at 46 mins

    Hamilton Accies 1-2 Rangers

The hosts come roaring out of the traps immediately after the restart, but Lewis Smith's pass for Mickel Miller is too heavy as the latter fails to latch onto the ball before Allan McGregor thunders out from his line.

I think Rangers will be frustrated with Accies' equaliser. The overriding feeling from Steven Gerrard will be that his side haven't been clinical enough

Hamilton Accies manager Brian Rice hasn’t taken his seat in the home dugout once since the start of this game. He’s paced up and down his technical area, screaming constant instructions to his players. He’s rarely let up with his coach reminders for them. It looks like he’s kicking every ball with them, ensuring they stick to their game plan.

  7. HALF-TIME HAMILTON ACCIES 1-2 RANGERSpublished at 13:01

Rangers take a narrow lead into the break, which in truth, could've been by a greater margin.

Ryan Jack fired the visitors in front before a predatory Lewis Smith equalised for Accies. Rangers then huffed and puffed in search of a second goal before Ryan Kent found one in spectacular style.

What a strike. Rangers regain the lead with a stunning effort by Ryan Kent. The winger dances away from his marker before firing an unstoppable drive with his left foot into the top corner.

    St Johnstone v Aberdeen (3pm)

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland

St Johnstone and Aberdeen return to action at McDiarmid Park following an international break which possibly came at the wrong time for both clubs – for very different reasons.

Saints have had 2 weeks to stew after a 4-1 home humbling to Hibs last time out, they would have liked the opportunity to try and get that out of their system sooner rather later.

As for the Dons, they have won their last 3 games, Derek McInnes will be hoping the enforced lay off hasn’t done anything to halt the momentum they have been building in recent weeks.

The sides drew 1-1 at Pittodrie in September, and despite their contrasting league positions, don’t be surprised if the Perth edition of the encounter proves to be a similarly tight affair.

Rangers have passed up some good opportunities. The longer the game goes like this, the more it suits Hamilton. I've seen this movie before!

  13. Kent believe it...published at 41 mins

    Hamilton Accies 1-1 Rangers

Will Rangers come to regret not taking their chances? Ryan Kent, down the left in acres of space, sends a heavy cross high behind for a goal kick, much to the frustration of his team-mates in blue.

Four minutes plus added time remaining of the first half. It remains 1-1.

    Hamilton Accies 1-1 Rangers

    Quote Message

Ryan Jack is orchestrating things right now. One of the Hamilton strikers needs to drop back and pick up him or Joe Aribo

  15. CLOSE!published at 37 mins

    Hamilton Accies 1-1 Rangers

Rangers spurn a glorious chance to retake the lead. Ryan Kent's sumptuous cross is begging to be headed home by Connor Goldson, but the big defender opts instead to head back across goal.

However, it's got too much mustard on it for Filip Helander, who can only head agonisingly over.

    Hamilton Accies 1-1 Rangers

    Neil McCann
Former Hearts & Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Ryan Jack looks like Rangers' most attacking player out there. He's offering support to Jermain Defoe and he's having plenty of pops at goal. He's clearly being encouraged to by the coaching staff

  18. Southwood worth his weight in goldpublished at 32 mins

    Hamilton Accies 1-1 Rangers

James Tavernier ghosts in behind the Hamilton defence but once again Accies keeper Luke Southwood is alert to the danger and races from his line to gather from the Rangers skipper.

  19. Rangers pressurepublished at 31 mins

    Hamilton Accies 1-1 Rangers

Ryan Kent sees his shot blocked by Craig Easton, before Ryan Jack blazes an effort high and wide. No need for Luke Southwood to leap into the sky to save that one.

However, the hosts are struggling to get their foot on the ball to challenge Rangers' territorial supremacy.

  20. 'Accies looking compact now'published at 12:45

    Hamilton Accies 1-1 Rangers

    Derek Ferguson
Former Rangers and Hamilton midfielder on Sportsound

    Quote Message

Accies know that they won't have much of the ball in these games so they always need to dig deep. I think they've only had one opportunity. They looked open at the start of the game but look compact now
