  8. Austin lives up to his namepublished at 14:16 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Birmingham 2-3 West Brom

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at St Andrew's

With a vintage name like Austin, you’d have thought coming to the Midlands at this stage of his career would have been an ideal stage for the 30-year-old to flourish.

Instead, Charlie Austin made rather a comparatively slow start to his Albion career, struggling to get out of third gear at times. And he’s even been garaged.

But that is now six goals in five games.

His equaliser was a real fan-belter. With a first touch like that and a shot to match, you just don’t stop those. And now a superb far post header to follow.

It’s 'boing boing Baggie Baggie' time now. And a loud rendition of The Lord Is My Shepherd at St Andrew’s!

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 84 mins

    Birmingham 2-3 West Brom

And that missed header is Jeremie Bela's last contribution.

He comes off with Ivan Sunjic, and on come Josh McEachran and Jefferson Montero.

Crikey, Birmingham really should be level.

Jeremie Bela, goal gaping, heads over from a few yards.

The ball in from Darnell Furlong makes that goal, Austin has come on, he's fresh and he's rewarded the manager who you've got to praise, the two subs combine for the goal.

    3-2 WEST BROM!!!

It's another brilliant goal from Charlie Austin.

Darnell Furlong sends in the perfect cross, Austin pulls away from his marker and plants a header into the bottom corner from eight yards.

What a turnaround in the space of eight minutes.

    Birmingham 2-2 West Brom

I'm not sure the scoring is done here you know.

Alvaro Giminez sends in a low cross but it's just behind Birmingham midfielder Ivan Sunjic.

It was 3-2 the last time these teams met in March. Same again?

    Birmingham 2-2 West Brom

Lukas Jutkiewicz would have expected to do better with his head.

The ball is crossed into him, but he nods way over from distance.

  16. Postpublished at 75 mins

    Birmingham 2-2 West Brom

Gary Gardner is straight into the thick of things.

Kyle Bartley barges into the Blues midfielder, and suddenly it's all kicking off again.

Referee Rob England calms things down quickly though. He's been excellent, in what has been a feisty derby at times.

  17. 'A proper striker's goal'published at 14:05 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

That is a terrific goal from Charlie Austin, a proper striker's goal, on the turn and he's hit it into the corner - a great substitution from Slaven Bilic.

    Stunning.

You will not see a better strike than that.

Charlie Austin collects the ball on the edge of the box, turns and fires the ball into the top corner.

It may well have been his first touch since coming off the bench. Wow.

  20. Postpublished at 72 mins

    Birmingham 2-1 West Brom

For a side who love scoring goals - 43 this season - West Brom have been way off the mark today.

They've had just the one shot on target, Grady Diangana's goal.

What have they got left in the final 20 minutes at St Andrew's? At the moment, Leeds are staying top.
