Eberechi Eze is drifting deeper and deeper and beginning to pose a few problems for Reading. He drives forward from 40 plus yards and charges towards the box.

But his progress his halted by Liam Moore, who just stands his ground as the QPR man bundles into him.

Rangers have started to fathom this out by the looks of things.

The Reading pressure has relented for the time being and the visitors are beginning to find some space in midfield.

They win a corner and Grant Hall arrives at the near post unchallenged, but sends his header wide of the far post.

His reaction tells you he knows that was a great opportunity.

There's a warning for the home side.

Mark Warburton's side look like conceding goals but they are lively and dangerous in attack, with plenty of pace and direct running.

Jordan Hugill thought he had scored for QPR, but Bright Osayi-Samuel delayed his cross from the right and the on-loan West Ham striker has wandered a fraction offside.

Reading are well on top but for all their impressive attacking, they have only had two shots on target in the first 32, but that's two more than QPR.

Jordan Hugill has just headed wide for Rangers, their first proper chance.

But the big striker had to lean back to get a connection and it went well wide.

QPR have a rare spell of possession at the back. Reading look like they are having a breather as they let the visitors tippety tap away in their own half.

Another close call for QPR, who are cut open once again .

Charlie Adam is again involved, finding Ovie Ejaria who picks out John Swift. But his cross is not up to the approach play and is easily gathered by Joe Lumley.

Pele, Charlie Adam and John Swift are all impressing early on here and are a big reason why Reading are controlling things.

Being called Pele. I mean, that's a lot to live up. Surely a tough start in life.

Reading have a bit of a penalty shout as Lucas Joao tumbles in the box.There was minimal contact so nothing doing.

And Eberechi Eze wastes it, sending it well over the bar from 25 yards out.

It's lovely to watch from Reading.

Chris Gunter is involved again, running a good diagonal from the right and inviting a pass from John Swift, who obliges.

But Gunter cannot wrap his foot around the ball and it goes out for a goal kick.

Eberechi Eze shows a glimpse of his talents with some nifty footwork, but he's 50 yards from goal and Reading soon win back possession and are on the attack.

Charlie Adam is involved again, the veteran midfielder is having a fine game so far. He plays a long pass which ends with Chris Gunter cutting in from the right and blasting a shot over from 20 yards.

Great defending by Toni Leistner to extend a leg and knock a cross away for a corner after some neat Reading interplay on the edge of a the box.

A vital interception, Michael Morrison was lurking and it would have been virtually impossible to miss.

The Royals have started very impressively.

The Royals are dominating things here. Plenty of movement all over the pitch and Rangers can't get any sort of time on the ball. QPR boss Mark Warburton is patrolling his area and is not looking entirely happy with the way things are going.

Reading have the first chance of the night. Charlie Adam is involved and his pull-back ends with Joe Lumley having to make a fine double save to deny Ovie Ejaria and then John Swift.

Really alert goalkeeping that.

Some lovely skills by John Swift in a tight area, a double drag back and glitzy turn almost buys him enough time to get a shot away before QPR surround the Reading man.

Eberechi Eze is an exciting player to watch. The QPR playmaker hasn't had a sniff of possession yet. It's all Reading so far.
