    Scottish Premiership

Back to reality in the Scottish Premiership and Motherwell grab the headlines in the absence of the Old Firm as they thump bottom side St Johnstone even though manager Stephen Robinson says they didn't play particularly well.

Well stay three points behind third-top Aberdeen, who edged out St Mirren.

Kilmarnock fall to three points behind Well but will be pleased to have escaped Easter Road with a point after being 2-0 to Hibs.

Meanwhile, Livingston and Hamilton share a dull goalless draw that moves them both up the league despite long winless runs continuing.

The good news for Hearts fans is that they avoid the possibility of ending the weekend bottom of the table as they travel to face Rangers tomorrow.

Leaders Celtic are first up on Sunday, though, away to Ross County. Join us then for more live coverage on radio and online.

  3. Yellow card right decision - McInnespublished at 17:52 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    FT: Aberdeen 2-1 St Mirren

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes refutes St Mirren counterpart Jim Goodwin's claim and says ref Steven McLean was spot on to only book Joe Lewis for the penalty concession.

"Joe has actually tried to take his arm away," McInnes tells BBC scotland. "Greg Leigh is coming round on the cover as well, so I think a yellow card is the right decision.

"Fortunately, we have a keeper who is worth 12-15 points to me and he showed why today. His double save was excellent and thankfully we got a deserved three points on balance of play and chances."

    Euro 2020 finals

The news from Bucharest is the Czech Republic will also be in Scotland's group at the Euro 2020 finals should Steve Clarke's side get through the play-offs in March.

We already knew Scotland would be playing England, but Croatia and the Czechs have now come out the hat.

The Czechs face a rematch with England, having finished second in qualifying behind Gareth Southgate's men.

  5. Lewis should have seen red - Goodwinpublished at 17:44 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    FT: Aberdeen 2-1 St Mirren

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin is adamant Aberdeen goalkeeper Joe Lewis should have been sent off for conceding the late penalty in his side's 2-1 defeat.

"I'm not going to stand here and ask for people to be sent off, but my understanding of the law is goalkeepers can make a genuine attempt to play the ball," he tells BBC Scotland.

"There is no attempt to play the ball - Jon Obika knocks the ball by him, Lewis sticks out his left arm and pulls him to the ground. He shouldn't be on the park to face the penalty and make the save.

"I think we merited a point. For large spells, we played really well. It has happened far too often this season where we've played well and lost. We have to do something about it or we'll never get out of this position."

  6. Croatia lie in wait for Scotspublished at 17:41 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

Over Bucharest, the draw for the Euro 2020 finals is being made and we now know that, should Scotland qualify, they and England will be joined in the same group by Croatia, who won their group, three points clear of Wales.

  7. We need to be a bit braver - Holtpublished at 17:37 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    FT: Livingston 0-0 Hamilton Academical

Similar to Hamilton, Livingston's winless run extends to seven games following today's draw, but manager Gary Holt isn't as pleased as his opposite number.

"I don’t think we tested the goalkeeper enough," he tells BBC Scotland. "We tried to work the perfect opening. We need to be a bit braver. We’ve had a lot of the ball and it’s been a different game plan for us to open a team up.

"I can't fault them. The effort and commitment was there."

Holt bemoaned a Jon Guthrie header that came off the post and which might have been decisive for his side.

"Hamilton weren’t going to turn up here and gift us the three points," he says. "We’ll take it on the chin."

  8. Saints 'too nice' - Wrightpublished at 17:34 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    FT: Motherwell 4-0 St Johnstone

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright tells BBC Scotland: "The game can be summed up by they put seven headers in our box and won every one. We didn't deal with any of them and that's what has cost us.

"Motherwell will not get four easier goals and I've had to stand here too many weeks and say that.

"They've got to realise they've got to stand up and do their jobs. No-one is giving a go at anybody when we conceded, we're almost too nice."

  9. I didn't recognise my team - Alessiopublished at 17:32 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    FT: Hibernian 2-2 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock manager Angelo Alessio was shocked by his side's passive opening at Easter Road but says he always fancied them to come back and snatch a draw.

"I believe always we will come back in the game," he tells BBC Scotland. "Sometimes it happens, sometimes not, but I believe, the players too.

"I didn't recognise my team [in the first hour] because they were soft, slow, moved the ball very slowly. We were passive.

"Hibernian in this moment were very confident, they played well in the first half and beginning of the second. Then I think, slowly, slowly, we came back in the game and had the belief to come back."

  10. Losing lead 'sore' - Rosspublished at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    FT: Hibernian 2-2 Kilmarnock

Hibs head coach Jack Ross was remaining philosophical after watching his side losing a two-goal lead.

"Very obviously we are immensely frustrated and disappointed not to win," he tells BBC Scotland.

"We could have been further ahead, but a two-goal cushion is still a good one and to concede so late is sore.

"There is no point on dwelling on how we did earlier in the game if we didn't win it and we have to improve on that.

"Any team that come back in that way deserve credit, but our team deserve credit also for doing so well for an hour.

"We are still learning about our players, but there's lots of positives. We just need to be more streetwise."

  11. Rice satisfied with clean sheetpublished at 17:26 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    FT: Livingston 0-0 Hamilton Academical

Speaking to BBC Sportsound post-match, Hamilton manager Brain Rice seems satisfied with today's point at Livingston.

"Any time you come to Livingston and take something from the match, you’ve done something right," he says. "It’s a difficult place to come. I'm delighted to come here and get a clean sheet."

Hamilton's winless run now stretches to eight games, with the Lanarkshire side's next game away to Celtic on Wednesday.

"What a better place to do it [end winless run] than Celtic Park," Rice adds. "A nice easy one."

  12. Cove and Edinburgh stunnedpublished at 17:21 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Scottish League Two

What a stunning result for Annan. Not only did they end leaders Cove Rangers' run of four wins but they did it in style with a 6-1 thumping of the Aberdeenshire side.

Forward Tommy Muir scored a hat-trick, including two penalties, while Cove had Declan Glass sent off 10 minutes from the end.

Edinburgh City failed to take advantage, losing their six-game unbeaten run as they went down 2-1 to Queen's Park to remain five points behind Cove and four points above Cowdenbeath, whose game away to Albion Rovers was postponed.

  13. Well 'poor' despite thumping win - Robinsonpublished at 17:17 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    FT: Motherwell 4-0 St Johnstone

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "A wonderful result - a complete opposite from last Saturday [3-1 loss to Hibernian].

"I thought we were poor at times, we were a little bit flat today, but there was some super defending and, at the other end, we were brave and our deliveries were good.

"We didn't play as well as I feel we should do, but I've got to be happy because we were strong in both boxes.

"Everyone was maybe just a step off it, but everyone kept going. We were clinical. Maybe the 4-0 scoreline didn't reflect the game."

  14. Diamonds batter Fifers to stay toppublished at 17:13 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Scottish League One

Dale Carrick scored twice as Airdrieonians swept aside promotion rivals East Fife to secure a sixth consecutive win.

But the Diamonds only remain a point clear at the top after Brad Spencer gave Raith Rovers a victory away to Montrose.

Falkirk, under their new joint management team, move above East Fife into third with a 3-0 win over bottom side Stranraer.

Forfar end an eight-game run without a win by beating Peterhead.

  15. Dobbie and Nisbet grab headlinespublished at 17:08 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Scottish Championship

With leaders Dundee United and Ayr United having their games postponed, Inverness Caley Thistle made the most of their chance to go second and move to within seven points of the top with a comfortable win away to Alloa.

But the real drama was elsewhere, with fourth-top Dundee equalising in stoppage-time only for evergreen striker Stephen Dobbie to grab his second of the day to win it for Queen of the South at Dens Park.

At East End Park, bottom side Partick Thistle paid heavily for conceding an early penalty, after which Thomas O'Ware was sent off, as Kevin Nisbet scored the first of four goals in a 5-1 drubbing for visiting manager Ian McCall against his former club.

    Quote Message

It's had been coming and it was down to pure enthusiasm, application, a bit of bravery from the away players - this is the Kilmarnock side we all know and Hibs just haven't been able to contain them. They've deserved it last 10 or 15 minutes, but the previous minutes before, they have been nowhere near it

  20. FULL-TIME Aberdeen 2-1 St Mirrenpublished at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

After a dramatic finish at Pittodrie, St Mirren remain pointless away from home and drop into the bottom two.

Tony Andreu's late penalty miss proves costly for the visitors, who had fought back to level through Jonathan Obika after Sam Cosgrove's early opener.

Niall McGinn restored third-place Aberdeen's lead after the break and they have now taken 13 points from the last 15.
