The visitors surrender possession on the edge of their own box and midfielder Joe Newell flashes inches wide with a powerful left-foot drive.

St Johnstone's David Wotherspoon goes on a run down the right-hand side and, despite the presence of two Motherwell defenders, he is calm enough to hold on to the ball all the way to the byline before cutting back to Chris Kane.
Kane tries to flick the ball past the goalkeeper, but Mark Gillespie is alert enough to make the save. However, is it encouraging stuff from St Johnstone as they try to get level.
Back at the other end, Chris Long gets his third sight of goal for the home side. And, for the third time, the striker's shot doesn't hit the target.
