Mike: Not convinced Saints can survive this season and don't buy the recent press about how they have improved. The back four are the worst in the division, utterly abysmal. Midfield is slow and lack ideas. Only Ings and Ward-Prowse offer anything.

Henry DiStasio: I’m glad I’m not a Southampton fan - they’re so frustrating! Bless em they’re trying but I think they just don’t have the talent to get results.

James Warren: Isn’t the definition of madness doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? Come on Ralph!! Make a change, we want to see Adams.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 88 mins

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

Issa Diop is on now for West Ham, replacing Mark Noble as the visitors look to shut up shop.

  7. 'Saints have nothing to lose'published at 19:15 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

    Steve Brown
Former Charlton Athletic defender on BBC Radio London

West Ham look tired and leggy. They are just watching the game, no one is physically defending or marking anyone. Southampton have nothing to lose. West Ham are not putting enough pressure on them. I understand why they are dropping deeper but it's a dangerous game to play.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 87 mins

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

Final change for Southampton as Che Adams comes on for Cedric. Adams is still waiting for his first goal for the Saints, what a time this would be to score it....

  9. Postpublished at 86 mins

Cedric's cross flies through from right to left to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on the far side of the box but he scuffs his shot wide. Big chance for Southampton.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 84 mins

  11. Postpublished at 83 mins

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

Michail Antonio's name is being sung from the away end. He has been head and shoulders the best player on the pitch today. I'd go so far as to say his performance has been the best of any player in any Premier League game today. He's been everywhere.

  12. Postpublished at 81 mins

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg cuts the ball back inside the box for a totally unmarked Jack Stephens who... slices the ball out from the middle of the area for a throw in.

    A defender's shot.

The more I see of Antonio the more I think - 20 mins left in a Euro 2020 quarter-final, unleash him, sit back and enjoy the chaos

Andy: I just don't understand this game any more. First the double penalty that wasn't, now the baffling decision to call that handball. Antonio's arm is by his side and the Southampton player kicks the ball onto it from six inches away. Bizarre.

Graeme Wallace: They really need to get rid of that stupid new handball rule. The ball was kicked against his hand from one foot away and it was next to his body. Hardly deliberate!

  17. Postpublished at 74 mins

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

West Ham make a change as they try to regain control of this game. Andriy Yarmolenko is on for Robert Snodgrass.

  18. 'That's a warning message'published at 19:00 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

    Steve Brown
Former Charlton Athletic defender on BBC Radio London

There is your warning shot from West Ham. He was allowed to control it and the West Ham defence were no where near him. They should not be allowing any attacker that much time on the ball in such a dangerous space. Defenders are not getting near enough to their attackers.

  19. Postpublished at 71 mins

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

Danny Ings hits the woodwork again soon after but he is flagged offside as he chases a ball from halfway.

Southampton are starting to get into their groove now.

  20. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 70 mins

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

Moussa Djenepo and Danny Ings combine much better again soon after as the latter brings a cross under control before rattling a shot off the underside of the crossbar. So close for the hosts.
