  1. 'Best performance of the season'published at 18:28 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Leicester 1-1 Norwich

    Norwich City

Norwich manager Daniel Farke: "It was a great performance. We played an in form team away and that’s probably our best performance of the season. It’s a top class result. We are still a little disappointed we did not use all our chances.

"I think we were the better side in the first half. We went for a win and we tried everything. Leicester dominated possession but we had the better chances. All games are close and we are competitive. We are happy to get one point and it’s good for confidence."

  2. 'We need to show a reaction'published at 18:28 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard speaking to Match of the Day: "We need to move the ball quicker and the attacking players have to hurt them more - behind the lines, one-v-one. It was all a bit safe from us and that's something we'll have to work on on the training ground.

"I wouldn't blame it (the performance) on the busy schedule, I'd blame it on us getting it wrong."

On the club's current league run: "We are fourth and that, I think, we would have taken at the start of the season because a lot of people expected less of us.

"Going into the Manchester City game a few weeks ago we were looking up but now we need to show a reaction and get results. This was always going to be the case. I knew with the squad we have there would be tough moments."

  3. 'People are possibly changing their opinions of us'published at 18:24 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Sheff Utd 2-0 Aston Villa

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder: "The points we have after 17 games is healthy. That's all we are focused on. It's been a big week for us. Its a huge result for us, to play that way was very pleasing for us.

"It was a proper second half performance. It was a cagey first half and I don't think we had many big opportunities, but I felt it was coming before half-time and we stepped it up in the second half. To go again, we rode our luck with Jack [Grealish] missing the penalty, but I think the right result has happened today.

"Possibly people are changing their opinion on us, we're classed as a pragmatic, structured and organised team but I think if you look at our goals that's doing us a bit of a disservice. Our play was effective and all managers are after that.

"We recovered from disappointment after the Newcastle game, there were a lot of disappointed players and supporters and I struggle with that a bit because we're going to have difficult days.

"I have to say, Dean [Smith] and John Terry were in the tunnel clapping our players because they recognise our players' performance today. That's a class act and people won't see that but I want to mention it."

We've got a few minutes so let's get some more reaction from the day's earlier games.

    • Haller's goal ended a run of 636 minutes without scoring in the Premier League.

    • Fabian Balbuena has already made five interceptions today. Only Declan Rice has made more in a full PL game this season for West Ham (6 vs Bournemouth).
  6. 'West Ham have not been tested'published at 18:22 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

    Steve Brown
Former Charlton Athletic defender on BBC Radio London

Southampton have to come out in the second half a lot better than they have done. West Ham's formation has confused them I think and they are on a back foot. I don't know how they have won two of the last three games if they have been playing like that. They have not tested Dave Martin in the West Ham goal at all. They need to be a lot more productive going forwards.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:17 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

Some boos from the Saints fan as the visitors go into the break ahead.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 45 mins

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

Robert Snodgrass brings down Ryan Bertrand as the Southampton man tries to break and is shown a yellow card as a result.

  9. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

Some Southampton pressure as half time approaches. Fabian Balbuena has been a defensive rock for the visitors, however. He's made five key interceptions already in this game.

  10. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

Southampton move the ball up field quickly as a West Ham attack breaks down but the break ends with a disappointing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg header as he plants it well over the bar.

  11. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

It has been a good away performance by West Ham so far. They have the goal and have generally looked the more threatening.

Southampton have played well in spurts, looking at their best on the counter.

  12. 'Such an important goal'published at 18:10 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

    Steve Brown
Former Charlton Athletic defender on BBC Radio London

The first touch from Antonio is spot on. That's such an important goal for West Ham. The work rate between players was key. The finish is actually quite scruffy and they are the hardest ones to save for goalkeepers. That's his first goal since October.

  13. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Southampton 0-1 West Ham

Sebastien Haller appears to have the chance for an immediate second as his close-range strike is batted away by Alex McCarthy but the flag had already gone up for the ball going out of play in the build up.

  14. goal

GOAL - Southampton 0-1 West Hampublished at 37 mins

    Sebastien Haller

    The goal drought is over!

Great work by Antonio to keep the ball in play. He finds Robert Snodgrass, who chips to the far post for Pablo Fornals and the midfielder knocks the ball down for Sebastien Haller to sweep home via the post.

A deserved goal for a very good performance from the striker so far.

  15. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Southampton 0-0 West Ham

James Ward-Prowse stabs the ball past Fabian Balbuena to break into the box but his cutback is into a wall of West Ham players. Southampton are just starting to get a bit of a hold on this game.

  16. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Southampton 0-0 West Ham

Shane Long brings a long ball from the back under control on the right. He slips in Moussa Djenepo, who then finds Danny Ings, who does well to hook the ball back from the byline but David Martin clutches the ball out of the air.

  17. Postpublished at 29 mins

    Southampton 0-0 West Ham

Approaching the half hour mark and just the one shot on target so far. A very cagey half of football with both sides cautious of making an error.

Edward Taylor: How is that not a penalty? And how is that not a clear and obvious error?

Field: Clear double penalty shout in the same incident. They are stone wall penalties being turned down.

  19. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Southampton 0-0 West Ham

Hmm, looking at the replays the Sebastien Haller tumble was soft but there was another in there with Antonio that looked more like a foul. Southampton a little lucky there.

Antonio and Haller are proving a dangerous front two for the Saints to cope with.

  20. 'Southampton are ready to counter-attack'published at 17:58 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Southampton 0-0 West Ham

    Steve Brown
Former Charlton Athletic defender on BBC Radio London

Southampton are very much set to counter-attack with three players. You see them move so quickly in numbers. They are set out to mark zonally and at the moment it is working for them. The game is a little scrappy at the minute.
