Gunter De Paepe: KDB can make as many runs behind as he wants, Mahrez never seems to want to pass him the ball. Compare that with Bernardo Silva.

Jackunze: Leicester City are defending too deep and there's no support for Vardy up front.

Raheem Sterling made a meal of it but I think there was just enough contact for the penalty to be awarded.

    Man City 2-1 Leicester

    John Murray
BBC Radio 5 Live commentator at Etihad Stadium

This has been a really enjoyable half of football.

Man City have been very good but they found themselves a goal down because of how devastating Leicester are on the counter.

But the hosts dug deep and fought back to retake the lead. Sterling exaggerated the way he went down for the penalty but there was definitely contact.

  5. Vardy waiting for his chancepublished at 18:23 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2019

    Man City 2-1 Leicester

    Chris Bevan

Manchester City are dominating possession, pressing, probing, shooting - scoring...and, when you consider the stats (see 18:07) too, then they are very good value for their lead at half-time.

But all the while, and usually out of sight of the TV cameras following the action, Jamie Vardy is lurking on the halfway line. With their full-backs high up the pitch, the home side only have Fernandinho and Nicolas Otamendi anywhere near him most of the time - and I reckon Vardy fancies himself in a foot race with both of them.

Vardy went close to an equaliser from close range from James Maddison's cross just before the break, and remains a constant threat - even when most of the game is being played at the other end of the pitch.

  6. 'City have dominated'published at 18:21 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2019

    Man City 2-1 Leicester

    Lee Hendrie
Former Aston Villa midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

City have dominated from start to finish.

But credit to Leicester, they have set up to frustrate City and they obviously got the goal.

Leicester are still in the game because it's so end-to-end.

Where did that 45 minutes go?

    A breathtaking half of football.

  8. CLOSE!published at 45+2 mins

    Man City 2-1 Leicester

Leicester almost equalise on the stroke of half-time.

The Foxes work the ball, James Maddison's low cross is helped on by Jamie Vardy's touch, but Man City goalkeeper Ederson springs low down to his right to tip the ball away.

John Smith: Sterling dive again. He stepped on defender’s foot, not the opposite.

    Simon Stone

Leicester's players followed a bit of a trend when that penalty was awarded by telling referee Mike Dean it needed to be checked again.

They didn't really need to. VAR review every penalty kick decision automatically. Dean was right. Leicester were wrong.

GOAL - Man City 2-1 Leicesterpublished at 18:12 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2019

    Ilkay Gundogan (43 mins)

    That's why they're champions.

Manchester City come from behind to turn the game around.

Ilkay Gundogan steps up for the penalty and buries it into the bottom corner, Kasper Schmeichel got a hand to it but it was not strong enough to keep out.

Ricardo Pereira with a trip on Raheem Sterling, clumsy challenge and Mike Dean points to the spot.

The ref standing with his arm outstretched for about a minute.

Thanks Mike, I think we get it.

  13. CLOSE!published at 41 mins

Man City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne is an absolute genius at time.

This time the Belgian works a yard, but sees his low drive pushed away by a sprawling Kasper Schmeichel.

Pep Guardiola is in a feisty mood.

He smacked Kyle Walker earlier and now smashes Brendan Rodgers on the back while on the touchline.

    Kevin de Bruyne, the passmaster.

A delightful ping into the feet of Raheem Sterling on the edge of the six yard box.

The touch is equally as brilliant, but Sterling cannot get a shot away as he is pushed away from danger by Jonny Evans.

  16. Man City having to do things the hard waypublished at 18:07 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2019

    Man City 1-1 Leicester

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

Today was the fourth successive Premier League home game where Manchester City have fallen behind - they recovered to beat Southampton and Chelsea, but could not fight back to prevent Manchester United leaving with the points.

This time? Well, the home side are dominating in terms of possession (72%), passes (250-99) and shots (10-2) but, while this game remains in the balance, that counts for nothing when they are up against a team as dangerous on the break as Leicester are.

    Oh this was close.

Riyad Mahrez has got one and nearly gets his second of the evening, but curls his inswinging left-footed free-kick just wide of the far post.

Kasper Schmeichel had waved it goodbye.

Andy Szpuk: When Mahrez and Vardy were team mates they were deadly. Now on separate teams they’re still deadly.

Rob: A little too cocky from Leicester fans. You didn't beat City, you just made them angry.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 34 mins

Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu is the first player into the book for dragging back Kevin de Bruyne.

Man City have a free-kick in a promising position down the right.
