  2. Pep urging the City fans onpublished at 18:04 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2019

    Man City 1-1 Leicester

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Pep Guardiola wants more noise from the Manchester City fans.

He has twice urged them to get into the game with his manic waving.

He said yesterday it was too early to write his team off as title challengers. But he knows the chances of them retaining the Premier League are already very slim. City must win here.

  3. 'Mahrez has been superb'published at 18:01 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2019

    Man City 1-1 Leicester

    Lee Hendrie
Former Aston Villa midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

That man Riyad Mahrez has been superb tonight.

He cuts in from the right and Kasper Schmeichel doesn't have a chance with that deflection.

    Riyad Mahrez (30 mins)

    Leveller!

Riyad Mahrez has teased and tormented Ben Chilwell and finally gets his reward.

The 2016 PFA Player of the Year collects the ball on the right, drifts inside and sees his low shot - via Caglar Soyuncu's deflection - end up in the back of the net.

This has been a tremendous contest so far.

Guardiola has surely got to be sacked? Name me a manager underachieving more with the players at his disposal.

Leicester unable to get to grips with Riyad Mahrez.

The winger whips in a dangerous cross into the box and Jonny Evans almost converts an own goal into his own net with an outstretched leg.

    Man City 0-1 Leicester

Man City have not learnt anything from that Manchester United defeat.

Again they are caught out at the back by a long punt forward and the defenders just cannot deal with Jamie Vardy.

He turns the covering Nicolas Otamendi inside out before smashing a shot narrowly over the angle.

Brilliant take from Riyad Mahrez, but then no Man City player is in sight to convert his low cross.

  12. City struggle against the counter-attackpublished at 17:56 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2019

    Man City 0-1 Leicester

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

That was a brilliant goal but Manchester City were caught out too many times like that here by Manchester United.

Kyle Walker went to get the ball much too far upfield. When he failed, Leicester were able to break and Jamie Vardy was too quick for Fernandinho.

    Man City 0-1 Leicester

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

"Jamie Vardy's barmy army" is the chant from the away end at the Etihad.

That was only the second time Leicester had escaped the Manchester City press, but they made it count and scored with their first shot at goal.

A lovely chipped finish too, after he seemed to have taken a heavy touch - with Fernandinho left in his wake.

    Man City 0-1 Leicester

    Man City almost equalise immediately.

Raheem Sterling meets a deep cross at the far post and side-foots an effort at goal, but Kasper Schmeichel is stretched out like a big starfish - like his old man used to do - to thwart the England winger.

A classic Leicester City goal on the breakaway. Scored classically by Jamie Vardy. His 17th of the season.

    Man City 0-1 Leicester

This is some goal - you have to see this.

City are pressed so high up the field, Harvey Barnes sends Jamie Vardy clear, he holds off the defender and then chips the keeper.

The audacity to chip Ederson from there. Super goal!

GOAL - Man City 0-1 Leicesterpublished at 17:51 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2019

    Jamie Vardy (20 mins)

    On the counter!

    A man bang in form.

Leicester hit Man City on the break and the home side just cannot deal with the speed.

Harvey Barnes sets Jamie Vardy away and no-one is going to catch him, Fernandinho does his best and the chance seems to be lost with a poor touch, but the Englishman keeps his cool with a delightful dink over the onrushing Ederson.
