  1. 'We have to take the good things into this one'published at 10:50 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2019

Bournemouth v Burnley (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Bournemouth

After seeing Bournemouth get back to winning ways at Chelsea, boss Eddie Howe leads his side against Burnley, where he was in charge from January 2011 to October 2012 before returning to the Cherries.

“It’s key now that we push that on and get a good result against Burnley," he said. "They’re a team that work incredibly hard, they’re a very effective team and we’re going to have make sure that we’re good.

“All the qualities that we showed against Chelsea, we'll need to show them again against Burnley. We have to take all the good things from last week into this one. Burnley never give anybody an easy game, Sean Dyche has done a great job there."

  2. Cherries to check on King & Surmanpublished at 10:44 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2019

Bournemouth v Burnley (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Bournemouth

Joshua King is doubtful for Saturday's game. The Norwegian striker had been out for almost a month before limping out of his return to first-team action at Chelsea.

And Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe does not expect any of his other injured players to come back.

“We have concerns on a few players and we’ll make some very late calls on them,” he said. “Joshua King went off last week with a twisted ankle and Andrew Surman picked up a calf problem so we’ll see how they are.

“We’re pretty much as we were. We’re stretched at the moment, that’s been well documented. We’re still hopeful that a lot of the players with the longer-term injuries are making good progress, but they’re not going to be ready short term.”

  3. We needed a lift - Howepublished at 10:37 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2019

Bournemouth v Burnley (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has also faced the media today and is on a high after the Cherries halted a five-match losing streak with a 1-0 win at Chelsea last Saturday.

"You could see how much the game meant to us," said Howe. "The players gave everything, we needed a lift and it was a big moment.

“When you win you naturally get a bounce, the players feel better about themselves, and it’s the same for the supporters who will have had a lift."

  5. I can't risk Pogba setback - Solskjaerpublished at 10:32 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2019

    Manchester United

On Paul Pogba's return from injury, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: "When he comes back he has to play well with a smile on his face and do what he did a year ago.

"We have one of the best players in the world when he is fit and playing well. I hope he will play before the end of the year but I am not going to push him. I can’t risk any setbacks or injuries."

  6. Man Utd 'hope' for January transfer businesspublished at 10:26 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2019

Watford v Manchester United (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

If Paul Pogba is not being sold next month and Erling Haaland is not flying to Manchester for transfer talks, are Manchester United doing any business in January?

The club's stance is that they will only attempt to sign pre-existing targets and January is not the easiest month to do business. But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer feels something may be done.

"We are hopeful of signing someone," he said. "You always hope but it is not nailed on. It has to be the right player, right age, right value. It might not happen. We are getting players back we have not been able to use – four extra bodies for the coming months."

Watford v Manchester United (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was more certain when he was asked about Paul Pogba's Manchester United future.

The conspiracy theory is super-agent Mino Raiola will get Erling Haaland into Old Trafford in exchange for getting Pogba out.

If there is anything in that, it won't be happening next month. "He is not being sold in January," said Solskjaer.

  8. 'Haaland not en route to Man Utd'published at 10:17 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2019

Watford v Manchester United (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not look entirely comfortable when he was asked about Erling Haaland.

But he did say - twice - that Haaland was not flying to Manchester to meet him - and confirmed, again, he would not be meeting him this morning.

"I don’t think he is en route here. Not through me," said the Manchester United boss.

"He is on a Christmas holiday. You can’t fly anywhere from Stavanger."

Everton v Arsenal (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    Arsenal

As for Spurs' north London rivals, here's some team news from the Gunners...

Granit Xhaka (concussion) is available for selection again while Hector Bellerin (hamstring), Rob Holding (knee) and Mesut Ozil (foot) are being assessed before Saturday's game.

Dani Ceballos (hamstring) is aiming to return to full training next week, with Sead Kolasinac targeting a return to full training in January due to the ankle injury he sustained in Sunday's defeat by Manchester City.

Kieran Tierney (dislocated shoulder) had successful surgery this week and hopes to be back in full training in March.

  12. Pogba won't be sold in January - Solskjaerpublished at 10:04 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2019

Watford v Manchester United (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also said that midfielder Paul Pogba 'will not' be sold when the transfer window opens next month.

Pogba is unlikely to make his comeback from an ankle injury in Sunday's game at Watford but the France international is edging towards a return.

"He is not being sold in January," said Solskjaer. "I hope he will play before the end of the year but I am not going to push him. I can’t risk any setbacks or injuries."

  13. Solskjaer denies Haaland talkspublished at 10:03 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2019

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has denied he is due to meet Erling Haaland in Manchester today.

Reports in Norway claim Haaland was on a flight from Stavanger to Manchester with his father that is due to land at 10:15 GMT.

Solskjaer, who managed the Norwegian teenager with Molde and has been heavily linked with a big-money move for him, said he knew nothing about it.

"I don’t think he is en route here," said Solskjaer. "He is on a Christmas holiday. You can’t fly anywhere from Stavanger. You need to go via, via. I cannot comment on other team’s players. You get a lot of speculation."

  14. 'We've got to try to find a way to win'published at 10:00 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2019

Newcastle v Crystal Palace (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

However, Newcastle boss Steve Bruce said he would not gamble on the fitness of Miguel Almiron and Jonjo Shelvey, who both played key roles in a promising run of form before last week's defeat at Burnley.

"I wouldn't take a risk if I didn't think they were right," he said. "The risk would have been last week, so it's let them recover. With a muscle, you're always on edge, but we think they've done enough. They've done enough in the gym and they've done enough rehabilitation work this week to make sure they are OK.

"We weren't quite the same (last week), but we've got to find a way, it's as simple as that. Crystal Palace have got the same thing - I was watching them on Monday night and they've got six or seven out as well, so we've got to try to find a way to win."

  15. Almiron & Shelvey back in trainingpublished at 09:57 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2019

Newcastle v Crystal Palace (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

We're set to hear from Manchester United's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but Newcastle boss Steve Bruce has already faced the media, saying that Miguel Almiron and Jonjo Shelvey could be back for Saturday's game.

The pair missed last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Burnley with hamstring and calf injuries, respectively, but have now returned to training.

"Almiron and Shelvey have a chance," said Bruce. "They trained yesterday (Thursday). As we speak at the moment, we haven't seen them just yet, but they both seemed OK yesterday.

"It's still too early for (Allan) Saint-Maximin, and Ki (Sung-yueng) and Ciaran Clark are still struggling. Matt Ritchie and (Jamaal) Lascelles are not there either."
