That's all for this decade in the Scottish Premiership. The title race is finely poised after Rangers' win at Celtic Park and Hearts lost more ground at the bottom, despite Daniel Stendel picking up his first point in five games.

The next set of Premiership fixtures won't be with us until Wednesday 22 January, although all the top flight teams will be involved in the Scottish Cup the weekend before.

Dubai is going to be teeming with Scottish footballers seeking some winter sunshine on their downtime, while seven of the clubs will be training in warmer climes at some point.

St Johnstone, Ross County, St Mirren, Hearts and Kilmarnock are staying at home.

Ross County co-manager Stuart Kettlewell is under no illusions that his side were particularly good during the draw at St Johnstone, or even deserved the point they picked up.

Speaking to BBC Scotland, he said: “There’s disappointment in our performance. There’s no doubt about it. We never felt as if we got going at any point. It’s a funny one because we were frustrated when we take the lead and got our noses in front because I never felt that it was our day.

"We came up short in a lot of aspects. So it’s probably a point gained for us if I’m being brutally honest. We’re not going to try and convince people we were the better team today. We weren’t. It’s certainly a point gained.”

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has revealed that on-loan Bristol City defender Zak Vyner may miss the rest of the season after a recurrence of a shoulder injury in the 1-1 draw with Hearts.

"There's a concern there," he says. "Last time, he was out for three weeks. The specialist said he didn't need an operation.

"There will be a revisit to the specialist and, between ourselves and Bristol City, we'll make the decision that is best for Zak.

""I think there's a real risk that he might need the operation that was suggested prior, which would mean he would be out for the season."

Hibs boss Jack Ross is not a happy man after a very poor display.

"There have been a lot of positive displays over the last eight weeks but there have been one or two disappointing days and today was one of them. One we can't accept, that has to be clear. We were a long way short of being good enough to win the game.

"The players have shown they are capable of good performances, we need to make sure we can do that more consistently.

"The ambition for us as a club is to be above where we are at the moment, although we temper that with where we were not so long ago."

Livingston will finish the year in fifth place after leapfrogging Hibs on goal difference following today's 2-0 win and Gary Holt has been speaking glowingly about his team to BBC Sportsound, saying: "We knew it was going to be tough, but we told the players to be brave.

"On Thursday we were passive at times, but today, to a man, we were excellent. We were willing to make things happen and it was a well justified win."

When asked if he's unearthed a gem in the signing of centre-back Jon Guthrie, who got both goals, Holt said: "It’s the work we do to identify people and get the right people in. They are very humble group but they know they are a good side, we just need to believe that more and more."

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson: "We didn't do the basics. If you don't do that you didn't win football matches. I have to give credit to Accies.

"They won every single header and second ball so we had to try something. It didn't work. I take full responsibility. I can't be too hard on them but it's certainly a lesson for us. We didn't deserve anything from the game today."

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Scotland: "We really should have killed the game off. I asked the players to keep a clean sheet because I felt if we did that we would score. We probably had more attempts on target today than we have had in any other game this season. I couldn't be any happier with the overall performance.

"There's a lot of guys playing out of position at the moment but I think it shows the character of the squad that they're willing to do that for the team.

"I think we've made progress. I think we're improving and there's more to come. We have to make sure we bring in a couple [of players in January] at least to make sure we push on in the second half of the season."

Despite grabbing a late equaliser, St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright is adamant that his side not only deserved a point but really should have had all three.

Speaking to BBC Scotland, he said: "The three times we've played Ross County this year have all left us frustrated. We controlled the whole game and were by far the better side. We went to sleep and got caught by losing our runner for their goal but showed great character to come back and probably should have won the game. We got back 1-1 and still had really good chances. So it was a frustrating day. Overall I'm happy with the performance."

Brian Rice hails his "absolutely outstanding" Hamilton Accies team after coming from behind to take maximum points at Fir Park.

"It's just a pity we didn't score more goals," he tells BBC Sportsound after the 2-1 victory.

"We started the second half fantastically well and we were on the front foot for the next 45 minutes. I couldn't have asked for any more.

"I'm delighted for everyone; to win the last match of the decade against your local rivals in the way we did, I'm thrilled.

"We've been in the last 10 or 11 games we've played. It's been one goal here, one goal there.

"I'll maybe look at bringing in one or two players. No more than that. It was a new squad in the summer and I'm still gelling them together after a lot injuries."

Kilmarnock caretaker manager Alex Dyer has called for the board to make a decision soon on the whether he remains in charge permanently.

He says after his side's 1-0 defeat to St Mirren, his third game in charge: "We need to sort out the manager issue. The players need to know. The club needs shaken up, 100%. We need to sort it out.

"We need a few recruits to give the place a lift. Whoever is in charge, whether it's me or someone else, someone needs to come in and shake the place up.

"It [the manager's decision] will be done any day now I would think. I'm at the stage I just want it to happen - whether they want to give it to me or give it to someone else. There's things in my mind I want to do.

"I'm not applying for it. If they want to give it to me, then we'll talk."

Livingston have had a great December with just one defeat in six games and racking up three excellent wins at home; 3-0, 4-0 and now 2-0.

Gary Holt's side will enjoy the New Year celebrations and you can be sure their attitude will be spot on when the action starts again at the business end of January.

Hearts manager Daniel Stendel hopes his side can build on their 1-1 draw with Aberdeen after the winter break despite being pegged back and having Sean Clare sent off at Tynecastle.

"We can be disappointed," he tells BBC Scotland. "Because, until the red card, we were defending well and we had a lot of possession and we dominated the game and had some good chances to score before we scored.

"A draw is not what we wanted, but it is a point more than in the last games and I hope it is a lift for all at this club.

"I said we needed more mentality on the pitch and you could see that today. I need a bit of time to see which players can play the way I want and I hope we can start with some new players, but I'm really sure we can climb the table if we play more games like this."

He's lost all three, making it five defeats on the spin for the Rugby Park club, who are slipping down the table, just five points above the play-off spot.

Giant defender Jon Guthrie is the Livi hero with both goals as the Lions of West Lothian move up to fifth place, leapfrogging Hibs on goal difference.

The visitors just had no appetite for the scrap and were brushed aside all too easily.

The teams remain separated by just one point after Saints hit back for a deserved equaliser late on.

The Perth side started the month bottom of the league but are now unbeaten in five games and Tommy Wright's side are seven points clear of Hearts.

The scoreline is not a true reflection of the 90 minutes. In truth, St Mirren should have won by a more handsome margin.

Junior Morais and Jonathan Obika had plenty of chances in the second half, while Killie goalkeeper Laurentiu Branescu denied Tony Andreu with a brilliant save.

Ilkay Durmus' early goal is enough to move St Mirren six points clear of the bottom, while Kilmarnock have now gone six games without a goal.

Accies remain second bottom of the table but that second-half comeback lifts them five points clear off Hearts.

Third-placed Motherwell looked on course for a comfortable win after an early goal but they didn't match their neighbours commitment - or quality - after the interval.
