    St Mirren 1-0 Kilmarnock

It's a bit like a basketball game in Paisley. The ball falls in St Mirren's box, then Kilmarnock's box and back again. But it's all untidy stuff save for the one real moment of quality from Ilkay Durmus that separates the sides.

Kilmarnock last lost five league games in a row back in May 2015 under Gary Locke and unless they can find the net for the first time in six games, it's looking like a repeat of that run for the Ayrshire men.

Livingston midfielder Marvin Bartley is being no shrinking violet against his old employers. When there’s a drop in volume in the stadium you can often hear Bartley barking instructions or demanding the ball in midfield.

  3. Ikpeazu off, Damour onpublished at 15:32 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Heart of Midlothian 1-1 Aberdeen

Hearts manager Daniel Stendel reacts to that double blow by replacing striker Uche Ikpeazu with midfielder Loic Damour.

That leaves Ryotaro Meshino a small, lonely figure up front.

  4. McGinn free-kick of the 'highest order'published at 15:29 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Heart of Midlothian 1-1 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

McGinn is more than capable - he's quality at set pieces and that one is of the highest order. Pereira maybe got a hand to it but it wasn't enough to keep it out

  5. 'Easy decision' to send Clare offpublished at 15:27 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Heart of Midlothian 1-0 Aberdeen

    Allan Preston
    BBC Scotland summariser on Sportsound

    Quote Message

Hearts switch off and Clare pulls him back. He had played really well, but that is an easy decision for the referee.

It's all going wrong for Hearts as Niall McGinn follows up the sending off of Sean Clare by curling a superb free-kick in off the inside of the post.

  7. RED CARD Clare (Hearts)published at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

Sean Clare is shown a straight red card for hauling back Jon Gallagher as Hearts are caught out by a quickly taken free-kick.

  8. Postpublished at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    St Johnstone 0-0 Ross County

A dull game finally comes to life as Ross Stewart plays a quick one-two with a team mate and curls a shot towards the St Johnstone goal. However, it's not quite accurate enough and Zander Clark is on hand to make the save.

  9. Motherwell on the chargepublished at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Motherwell 1-0 Hamilton

The hosts are bubbling here. Tight interplay on the right on the right between Allan Campbell and Christopher Long sends the ball fizzing across the box to Liam Polworth. The former Inverness midfielder drags his shot just wide, with Long doing likewise moments later.

Motherwell in complete control here. We have also just witnessed a Motherwell centre-half do a pirouette with the ball to beat two players. A sign of impending Apocalypse or just the confidence oozing through Stephen Robinson's side?

  10. Stendel bookedpublished at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Heart of Midlothian 1-0 Aberdeen

Hearts boss Daniel Stendel is not a man to hide under a bushel on the touchline and the German earns a yellow card for complaining about a decision against his side.

  11. Postpublished at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Livingston 0-0 Hibernian

Lyndon Dykes almost capitalises on some poor Hibs defending. Darren McGregor tries to let the ball run through to his goalkeeper, but the striker nips in behind the centre-back. However his shot is too weak to trouble Ofir Marciano.

    Heart of Midlothian 1-0 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

It's been a poor performance for Aberdeen. Derek McInnes went for two up top which hasn't worked. Wilson coming on for Main gives them a little more strength in midfield where they've been overwhelmed

  14. Postpublished at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    St Mirren 0-0 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock's first real chance of the game. Eamonn Brophy gets some space in the middle and thumps a powerful shot at goal.

It's straight at the goalkeeper who can only parry it, but no-one in the Killie frontline can get to the rebound.

  15. 'One Phil O'Donnell'published at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Motherwell 1-0 Hamilton

Motherwell fans burst into applause in the 10th minute and rise to their feet in honour of Phil O'Donnell, their captain who died on the Fir Park pitch 12 years ago.

Hearts are knocking on the door again and Andy Irving's low drive is turned wide for a corner by goalkeeper Joe Lewis at full stretch.

  17. Postpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Livingston 0-0 Hibernian

It's a half chance for Hibs' Boxing Day derby hero Martin Boyle. He latches onto a ball over the top but his tame effort is easily gathered by Matija Sarkic.

  18. Postpublished at 48mins

    Heart of Midlothian 1-0 Aberdeen

Aberdeen threaten to respond immediately as Shay Logan lumps a ball into the Hearts penalty box and it finds the head of Bruce Anderson.

But the forward is under pressure and heads over.

  19. 'Meshino given too much space for absolute stunner'published at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Heart of Midlothian 1-0 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Aberdeen were all over the place there - Hearts allowed too much space for me. They didn't deal with the initial pass, Meshino takes it on his right foot and scores an absolute stunner

  20. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    St Mirren 0-0 Kilmarnock

An early penalty shout for St Mirren. The ball gets played into a crowded box, Sean McLoughlin's header comes off a Killie defender and blocks the ball's path to goal.

There were half-hearted appeals from the home players and it would have been incredibly harsh had it been given.
