He looked like he put a hand on him, but I think Raheem Sterling went down too early there and there were no complaints from the Manchester City players. Sterling lost his balance. It was a good decision from the referee.

Just seen a replay and Serge Aurier touched Raheem Sterling's shoulder but nowhere near enough to force him down.

Half-hearted penalty appeals as Raheem Sterling goes down in the box. He was nudged by Serge Aurier but not enough to persuade the referee or VAR.

You see how direct Tottenham are. Toby Alderweireld is trying to hit Dele Alli nice and quick. You could criticise or praise them, but it is a long ball. Very direct. It worked well against Southampton the other day. The pass does hit the space really well and when City push on, there is going to be space to hit in behind them today.

A good move from left to right for Manchester City and Riyad Mahrez weights his pass perfectly to Kevin de Bruyne, who lashes his first-time shot wide of the near post. A shot wasn't really on from such a tight angle.

The one I'm glad to see back in the team is Oleksandr Zinchenko. He is a massive player for City. They have missed him while he has been out injured. He plays at left-back but comes in as an extra centre-midfielder and just gives them an extra edge in possession.

Spurs debutant Steven Bergwijn, playing on the left wing, does well to win the ball off Kyle Walker - a former Spurs player. The home fans enjoyed that.

I would like to see a goal today please. Manchester City have had all of the ball so far but just around midfield.

Manchester City - champions of Europe - that would be a great season. But if you told any fan at the start that you would just win the Carabao Cup, that would not be seen as a successful season for Manchester City

Manchester City can score goals for fun but it is the defensive side that they really need to sort out and quickly. To win the Champions League with this defence will be difficult, but to get any silverware should be seen as a success.

Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Kenny Dalglish. That began when Sir Alex was caretaker Scotland manager in 1986 - he overlooked Liverpool captain Alan Hansen for the World Cup squad in favour of the Aberdeen centre-halves Alex McLeish and Willie Miller (Fergie was Aberdeen manager at the time too), plus did not pick Dalglish either, claiming Kenny had enough on as Liverpool player manager. And who can forget that after-match interview when Kenny, carrying his granddaughter, blundered in on Fergie. "You'll get more sense out of her than him," said a cheeky Dalglish.

Spurs v Man City (16:30 GMT)

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho: "I'm happy [with my squad] but I have to answer yes it would be better with a striker.

"I cannot hide. If I say it's an easy situation to play three competitions without a striker, I'm going to lie and I cannot lie. It's important for us but if it's not possible for us, it's not possible.

"It's important that we are all together on this. We don't want just a striker to be helpful now, we want a striker who would be good for us and good for our future."

Mourinho vs Guardiola sticking with today's game. Arguably 2 best managers of the 21st century. Have won practically everything at club level. Amazing stuff.
