A stat that Watford fans won't want to see...

Watford have scored six Premier League own goals since the start of 2018-19, more than any other side in the competition.

Interesting to see what Pussetto can bring to this Watford side, having arrived in January from Udinese.

    Brighton 1-1 Watford

Now Brighton, who have thrown all their attacking options on to the pitch, look in a better place than Watford to go and win this game - the visitors had set up to defend their lead.

Nigel Pearson is making a change, taking Roberto Pereyra off for Ignacio Pussetto.

GOAL - Brighton 1-1 Watfordpublished at 79 mins

    Adrian Mariappa OG (79 mins)

    Unbelievable!

Adrian Mariappa, under no pressure whatsoever, has just lashed it into the roof of his own net after a dangerous ball across goal from Alireza Jahanbakhsh.

The Watford defender must've completely lost his bearings, there was no one around him and that was heading out of danger across the other side of goal.

    Game on...

  7. CLOSE!published at 78 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Watford

Nothing like saying there's been no shots on target to spark a chance...

It's Brighton's best move of the match, as Aaron Mooy bursts into the box and shoots low with his left foot, but Ben Foster sticks out a leg to help it clear.

Big, big chance for the hosts.

Looking forward to the Euros then?!

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 74 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Watford

Last throw of the dice for Brighton...

It's the overhead-kicking Alireza Jahanbakhsh who comes on for the hosts, as Ezequiel Schelotto makes way.

    Brighton 0-1 Watford

Adam Masina is clattered in the air and goes down on halfway, but there's no free-kick and Brighton can look to capitalise on the space left behind by the left-back.

Gerard Deulofeu tracks back and gets his body in front of the ball to see it through to goalkeeper Ben Foster.

Mark Hilder: As usual, Brighton playing with the ball, but no one taking a shot on goal. No point in having possession if you don't use it....

  13. Postpublished at 70 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Watford

A rare foray forward for Watford, as Adam Masina gets down the left and looks to pick out Troy Deeney in the middle. He can't and it's back to defending their own half for the visitors.

    Twenty minutes to go.

Stef, Liverpool fan: There are so many weeks at the start of the season, where teams only play one game a week. You could squeeze a couple of midweek games in there, which would free up more dates later in the season.

Champions League qualifiers and European group games could be the problem there. Like the idea though...

    Brighton 0-1 Watford

Brighton have dominated this second half in terms of possession, but they've had just one shot on target in the whole match. Glenn Murray goes up to meet a hopeful cross into the box but can only flick it wide.

    Brighton 0-1 Watford

Again Watford have everyone inside the box, winning the first ball and buzzing around the second like, errm.... hornets. Eventually Ben Foster scoops up.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 66 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Watford

Trossard looks to loft it into the box rather than going for goal but it's easily dealt with.

    Should've had a shot...

He'll get another chance to deliver though after Solly March is brought down in the corner by Adrian Mariappa, who also finds his way into Kevin Friend's book.

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 64 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Watford

Will Hughes chops down Neal Maupay. It gets him a card to match his shirt.

It does give Brighton's Leandro Trossard a chance to have a strike on goal, too...

The home fans are getting frustrated.

The build-up is too slow at the moment. When they go forward, the fans get behind them but it's fair to say Watford still look the stronger side.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 61 mins

    Another change for Brighton.

Pascal Gross departs, with Steven Alzate coming on.
