Kiran E: Easy comfortable win, just what Arsenal needed. Newcastle pathetic, their 7-0-1 formation a one way route to defeat. Joelinton and Almiron had no chance with these tactics.

David: I’m dreaming. Ozil scores, no Mustafi howler, no Xhaka yellow card and most importantly no VAR!

  8. goal

GOAL - Arsenal 3-0 Newcastlepublished at 89 mins

    Mesut Ozil

    His first goal since April!

It's a typical Arsenal goal - almost passed into the goal.

Mesut Ozil is involved in the build-up. He slips it right to Alexandre Lacazette, who slips it through to Nicolas Pepe.

He flicks it back around to Ozil in the middle and he pokes it into the net from close range.

Paul: Steve Bruce has lost in past in games like today against a big club and blamed it on fact the other team had an expensive and therefore quality forward. He can no longer do that with the abysmal £40m joke that is Joelinton in his team. That guy wouldn't cut it in League 2.

Jamaal Lascelles gets on the end of the corner but his header is comfortably saved.

Arsenal break quickly - Mesut Ozil backheel flicking it into the path of Bukayo Saka on the left. He drills it across goal but Alexandre Lacazaette can't quite get there.

    Lee Dixon

Eddie Nketiah has put a shift in, which you'd expect.

He's had a couple of chances and the one that hit the bar he was perhaps unlucky with.

I think Mikel Arteta will be pretty pleased with Nketiah's work today.

Bukayo Saka has been booked for that challenge. Bit harsh? He's got blood flowing from his nose too so has a tissue stuck up it.

Ciaran Clark looks very groggy as he's helped off by two of the medical staff.

There's no doubt the best aspect of Bukayo Saka's game is going forward.

I think he's got a lot of work to do if he's going to be a full-back in the long term but he's got a lot of potential.

  19. ouch!

    Arsenal 2-0 Newcastle

Bukayo Saka dances past one, then two, then three players with a weaving run through the middle.

He loses his balance as he reaches the edge of the box and is blocked off by Ciaran Clark. Both players are hurt by it - it's a hefty challenge and it's Clark who has come off worst.

Issac Hayden's ball in is over Joelinton but Hector Bellerin's header is poor. Allan Saint-Maximin pounces on it but Bellerin recovers to make the block.
