    Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham

A goal and a big part in the second, Olivier Giroud has had a great game today and surely played himself firmly into contention for the rest of the season.

    Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham

It is Chelsea, however, who keep up the hunt for more goals with Stamford Bridge now in full voice. Ross Barkley's fierce drive is pushed over by Hugo Lloris.

    Marcos Alonso

    Lovely goal!

It is a wonderful team move as Olivier Giroud heads across to Mason Mount, who squares across the edge of the box to Ross Barkley. The midfielder quickly finds Marcos Alonso and the full-back drives a sweet strike into the far corner.

Two down and Tottenham look out of this now unless they can muster a big turnaround.

Chelsea should hang on to Giroud. Quality hold up play and proven goalscorer. Can't figure out why he hasn't played more often

Same old story for Chelsea, bags of possession, territory and attempts but only one goal and while it's 1-0 the game is far from over.

    Hal, Manchester

So called Spurs 'fans'...we don't need you at our club. All you self haters go and support Woolwich. Give José a chance!!!

Despite no player making fewer successful passes in the first half than Spurs' Giovani Lo Celso (six), the Argentine attempted at least twice as many passes/crosses into the box (six) than any other player.

Scott: I still don't get why Levy would rather get a new manager, rather than backing the amazing one we had. Still backing Jose, but Levy has screwed up. New stadium only reason some fans don't criticise him.

Dave Payn: I'm no fan of Mourinho but I do have some sympathy. Spurs' lack of investment which caused Poch to speak out is undermining them. Levy's to blame, in my book.

The Royal Dyche, just down the road from Turf Moor, is looking well. Home fans only, though, so a neutral like myself can't even grab half a coke and a packet of cheese and onion.

Manager Sean has received this recognition for a very good reason. Every year he defies the odds to keep the Clarets not only up, but with room to spare.

And Man City's Champions League ban (appeal pending) has opened the door to another possible European qualification. Win today and they'll have taken 13 points from the last available 15. They'd lost four in a row prior to that run. Whatever you say about Burnley, they're not dull.

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea have been comfortably the better side so far - with Spurs passive once more - although Frank Lampard would have liked more opportunities created from the possession they have had.

Jose Mourinho has been scribbling in his notebook but he needs to question the whole approach at this stage. Just not positive enough.

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

    Andy Reid
Ex-Nottingham Forest and Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

That Tanganga chance was the first time Tottenham played a forward ball. What that does is it stretches Chelsea and the players have to move on. It's very easy for Chelsea to press Tottenham because theyre not stretching the play and Chelsea are able to just lock on to them. If Tottenham do make those runs they could get a bit of joy.

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 39 home games in all competitions when scoring first (W31 D8) - their last such defeat came to Spurs in the Premier League in April 2018 (1-3).

Jose Mourinho scribbles down some notes as half-time approaches. He must be thinking to change things up for the second half because the current tactic isn't really working.

Spurs have a complete lack of positive mentality since Pochettino left, we are a disappointing team to watch at the moment with nothing to make the fans happy.

    Wayne Sumner

Am I the only one to think that Harry Winks is overrated. Spurs will not win anything with him in the side. He would not get in the team of any of the other top 6 sides.

    Mike from Merthyr Tydfil

Want to know what's wrong with Spurs. Their CM. They can't defend. They're not creative. And they don't run too much. Other than that they're ok.

Spurs fans need to give Jose a break. Having to get into a squad who have had it easy for too long. He'll get it right.

All these Spurs have gone backwards messages are so lazy. Since Mourinho took charge Spurs would be 2nd in the league!
