Tom McQuillin: I can empathise with Mourinho’s lack of options. The Spurs squad depth is not even nearly good enough. But I cannot empathise with the total lack of a strategy he exhibits week-in week-out. There rarely seems to be a Plan A, let alone a Plan B!

Adam Kitchiner: Spurs so off the pace again. Getting caught in possession and doing no pressing themselves. Training and preparation must all be wrong.

Jim Dale: Jose’s Spurs really are joyless to watch. Boring. Risk averse. Dated. Rubbish. Even without Kane & Son, there’s a squad full of talent. It’s like they’re playing with their ankles chained together. Let them play, Jose... just let them play.

Chelsea's forward running is causing Tottenham all sorts of problems - when Mason Mount and Ross Barkley make those runs past Giroud they're really stretching Spurs and it's really creating space.

For Tottenham, not one of their players have made a forward run, so the back three of Chelsea can really squeeze up the pitch and when Tottenham get the ball they've got nowhere to go.

Mourinho awful negative tactics are going to cost Tottenham here. Outdated, only reason he is a serial winner in because of the players he's had.

Ash Williams: Ndombele not tracking back. The Spurs ageing defence not mobile enough. Mourinho needs to buy new defenders in the summer.

Chris Baldwin: Mourinho’s negative tactics rubbing off on the players. Even when they do get the ball they don’t know what to do with it then just get tackled. No improvement whatsoever under Jose, Spurs have gone backwards if anything. A team playing with zero confidence

Aviation Fan: Giroud has been wasted at Chelsea. Wasn't getting much game time at Arsenal but that hasn't increased at Chelsea. There is a reason he is a World Cup winner. Excellent player.

Chelsea dominating possession and fully deserving of their lead. That early Lucas Moura shot aside, Spurs have offered very little in the final third.

Given how quick the VAR was, I bet they didn't check the first pass to Giroud. That was the same phase of play! Zed

It was really good goal. I was saying a couple of minutes ago that you don't get many runs in behind from Olivier Giroud but then he goes and does one! It was a great run, a great effort by Ross Barkley and what a finish by Giroud on his left foot. They're the kind of goals you don't want to get disallowed!
