  1. 'Strange decisions'published at 12:44 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2020

    Chelsea 0-0 Tottenham

Former Newcastle midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

You talk about Spurs trying to get in the Champions League and win trophies, I think they have made some strange decisions.

They have let their best left-back go out on loan in Danny Rose - that's a very strange decision.

You've had injuries and you need goals but you've let Christian Eriksen go. They're both strange decisions when you're trying to finish in the top four and progress in the Champions League.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 12 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Tottenham

Now Hugo Lloris makes a save as he pushes behind Mason Mount's low drive at his near post. Olivier Giroud's header deflects off Ben Davies for another Chelsea corner but Reece James overhits his delivery.

Things starting to open up, though.

  3. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Tottenham

Finally a shot on goal as Jorginho gives away the ball just outside his own area and Lucas Moura works a bit of space for himself before firing at goal. It's a decent effort but Willy Caballero has it covered.

  4. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham win the first corner of the game as Steven Bergwijn's cross is deflected behind. Giovani Lo Celso's delivery is disappointing but gets a second bite of the cherry as the delivery bounces behind off Ross Barkley. The second delivery is also disappointing.

  5. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Tottenham

Giovani Lo Celso wins possession in the middle of the pitch and quickly finds Harry Winks but his ball forward is too long for Lucas Moura.

  6. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Tottenham

Good early pressure from Chelsea although a loose pass is intercepted by Lucas Moura and the Spurs man wins a free kick as Cesar Azpilicueta halts his break with a late tackle. The visitors can't make anything happen from the set piece, however.

Chelsea on the attack from the outset as Marcos Alonso swings in a cross but Jan Vertonghen heads away.

Three defeats in their last five home games for the Blues and they are keen to make a positive start today.

The sun is shining above Stamford Bridge and the players are out on the pitch. Almost time for the first game of the day to get under way.

Good to have a Saturday full of Premier League fixtures once again.

  10. 'Central defence one of Chelsea's problems'published at 12:27 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2020

    Matt Upson
Former England and West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

One of Chelsea's massive problems this season is establishing a really good centre-back partnership. In a back four, you rely on the two centre-backs to grow in a partnership and remain solid. It's interesting that Frank's looking at that.

Liverpool/Klopp without Salah and Firmino, they went out and beat Barcelona 4-0. Jose could have bought a striker in January, and he just won't pick Parrot.

Spurs? Really? It’s a tough one for the old school Chelsea fans because they see Spurs as their biggest rivals. But they know Jose is a big, big person for their history and behind the boos there will be respect.

  13. 'Parrott has a very bright future'published at 12:24 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2020

    Chelsea v Tottenham (12:30 GMT)

    Andy Reid
Ex-Nottingham Forest and Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Troy Parrott is a talented player, I know him well and he's got a very, very bright future ahead of him. It would be nice to see him in there, but you've got to remember he's just turned 18, so it's a big responsibility - so more game time, sure, but to throw him up there I'd say maybe no. Troy should be at least on the bench but to throw him in to start would put him under a hell of a lot of pressure.

Some players you can throw in and they take to it like a duck to water, and Troy maybe has that. But what he needs to do is to keep working, keep up that good attitude and really strong mentality he has.

Lampard finally goes with a left-footed player on the left! Good to see Loftus-Cheek back - a different type of midfielder from the others.

Can kick off hurry up and come so we can all forget about the Chelsea-Tottenham XI I picked a bit further down this page. Record amount of thumbs down going on there!

  16. 'Spurs should be a good team'published at 12:20 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2020

    Chelsea v Tottenham (12:30 GMT)

    Matt Upson
Former England and West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Mourinho is a results man. He gets results, he wins trophies, so to him the points tally is the most important thing, but there's something about Spurs at the minute and the way that they're playing that runs deeper than that.

Leipzig dominated the game at Spurs. Spurs should be a good team, but they just could not compete in terms of keeping the ball. Yes, results have been good and they've closed the gap on Chelsea but Mourinho is so focused on the points and there is more to it, and I'm sure supporters will want to watch football where they have possession of the ball.

  17. 'It's not all doom and gloom'published at 12:17 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2020

    Chelsea v Tottenham (12:30 GMT)

    Andy Reid
Ex-Nottingham Forest and Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think both teams will think, 'we've had a little bit of a sticky patch but there's still plenty of football to be played and we're in good areas'.

RB Leipzig are a really good side and there's no shame losing to them, and Spurs could go above Chelsea and into the top four if they win today, so it's not all doom and gloom.

With Chelsea, they need to turn round this form really, really quickly. They need to start getting some wins on the board and get back to playing some good football again like they were at the start of the season.

  18. 'A good opportunity today'published at 12:16 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2020

    Chelsea v Tottenham (12:30 GMT)

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, speaking to BT Sport: "Big moment for us - they are all big but we understand how close the battle is for fourth place. Tottenham are just behind us.

"Our form isn't what we want it to be, time to change it and a good opportunity today.

"I expected a match up - I expected Jose to know which way we would go. It is a match up and we have to take this challenge on positively."

Controversial scenes: reaction to that Chelsea-Spurs combined XI...

There are big games for Brighton, Bournemouth and Aston Villa in the battle to avoid relegation this afternoon, with all three sides able to put daylight between themselves and the bottom three - for a day at least.

Bottom two Watford and Norwich face Manchester United and Wolves respectively on Sunday, before West Ham travel to Anfield to play Liverpool on Monday night.

    Who can take advantage?
