    Gabriel Jesus

Breakthrough! Riyad Mahrez is the architect, carrying the ball at pace right through the Leicester midfield. Christian Fuchs is wrongfooted by a body swerve and Mahrez finds sub Gabiel Jesus on his right. The Brazilian slots in at the near post, lovely composed finish.

There's the usual VAR check with some lines drawn on the screen but it is decided that Jesus' atoms are all onside and the goal is allowed to stand.

Qaaltagh: If Barnes started (absolutely no idea why he was benched) Leicester would probably be ahead by now. He's looked electric down that right hand side. Mendy and co. have got absolutely nowhere near him. He's such a good young talent with a bright future ahead of him.

Rodri finds Gabriel Jesus on the edge of the area, it's one touch and shoot from the Brazilian but he doesn't get behind it and it's straight at Kasper Schmeichel.

Tackle! Fernandinho dives in on Harvey Barnes, who dances away down the right once more. He looks up, has men inside and finds Ricardo inside the area.

The right-back pulls the trigger but Nicolas Otamendi gets over brilliantly to throw him off his stride and the ball squirms wide for a goal kick. Was that the big chance?

Manchester City are trying to slow the game down a bit, it was all getting too stretched. Bernardo wins a corner.

As a City fan, I never get excited at a penalty awarded to us anymore, because I fully expect us to miss it. I'm rarely proved wrong.

Kyle Walker is showing no signs of slowing down yet - he makes up an incredible amount of ground to slide in and stop Ben Chilwell. Jamie Vardy then volleys wide. There's surely a goal in this!

Make it happen. We deserve to see Ederson on pens.

Oliver Thomas: What needs to happen for us to see Ederson take a penalty?! If Aguero is missing them what now?

Pep Guardiola has his hands around the shoulders of fourth official Jon Moss with a smile on his face. That penalty award was probably right but as you say, the consistency or lack of with these calls is what is infuiating people.

It started hours ago with Gio Lo Celso's red card, or lack of, and has continued all day.

Gareth Evans: How is that different from de Bruyne's handball in the first half? He's even closer than de Bruyne was.

Alex Munro: VAR has got some stick today but that’s an excellent use of it. Mistake by the referee, checked in about 20 seconds, correct decision made. Nice one.

It is a penalty, but I can see why Leicester are frustrated. They should have had a penalty in the first half. What a crazy weekend of VAR decisions.

Manchester City have missed five of their last seven penalties! Statistically and logically baffling stuff.

Sergio Aguero is then played in on goal but his shot is saved by Kasper Schmeichel's feet!

    Given!

It's pretty similar to the way Kevin de Bruyne blocked a free-kick in the first half.
