I think Roberto Mancini will be delighted with the start of the game, the intensity and the way they're knocking the ball around but in the final third they haven't been as convincing as he would like them to be - a lot of that is down to how well drilled this Turkey side are. They're compact, they get bodies back. But Italy are at their best in the channels and when they try to cut balls back.

Turkey need half-time badly, don't they? Immobile created a little bit of space for himself and got the shot off. It was a weak shot in the end and I would expect better than that.

Ciro Immobile drives a low effort at goal but Ugurcan Cakir gets down to scoop up the ball.

Turkey are determined to get to half time goalless but they are having to withstand a lot of pressure at the moment.

It is the first time Italy have had 10+ shots in the first half of a Euros game since 2012 versus England (13).

Turkey have not quite been positive enough with their passing, the ball is always going backwards. If it goes into midfield there's never really anyone just nicking it round the corner, they've got some creative players so they need to start hitting back a bit. At the minute in the midfield, if you press them you know it's going to go backwards towards the goalkeeper.

That overlap from Florenzi takes the defender away and Berardi comes inside on his left foot and its high and wide. Italy haven't worked Cakir enough in the Turkish goal.

This was the first shot on target in the game and the best chance by far.

Great save by Ugurcan Cakir.

Domenico Berardi has another go from distance but the ball is always rising and comfortably clears the bar.

Lorenzo Insigne bends an effort at goal from just outside the box but it is much too close to Ugurcan Cakir.

Another chance, but never one that was going to worry the Turkey goalkeeper.

Gianluigi Donnarumma has been starved of action so far in the Italy goal and he panics a little bit when he is finally called upon as he unconvincingly punches a Burak Yilmaz ball into the box. Gets away with it, though.

An awkward header for Ciro Immobile as he has to jump back to meet a cross and there's no surprise he is unable to get his effort on target.

Fewest touches of the ball so far?

Unsurprisingly, Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with four.

Turkey striker Burak Yilmaz has been starved of service and has only touched the ball five times.

Italy, with all their attacking dominance, are playing with a high line and Burak Yilmaz is caught offside again.

A bit more awareness from Yilmaz and he could punish the Italians, who haven't been able to take their chances so far.

That's three times Soyuncu has given the ball away. He gets lucky there. Berardi was putting him under pressure but Soyuncu was really lucky. He lost it twice within a few seconds and he's had a shaky start.

Nicolò Barella crosses from the right but he can't get it over Okay Yokuslu, who heads away but Barella is back on the ball soon after but fires wide.
