These are two similar teams in the fact the last few seasons they have been evolving and getting better. Both have qualified for these finals in impressive fashion but I've just got a feeling Turkey may cause one or two upsets in this competition.

We've waited a long time for this, but we're here now and the players will be so excited to be out there and to get going.

Alessandro Florenzi does really well to keep the ball alive down the right and cuts it back for Ciro Immobile, who can't get his shot on target, which is fortunate for Turkey as some of their players appeared to have stopped momentarily, thinking Florenzi hadn't kept it in play.
Italy are on the front foot from the outset.

The confidence is there with this Italian team. They have grown under Mancini and they will feel this is a wonderful opportunity.
They have the players who are capable of performing. Can they be brave enough tonight? Both sets of players looked nervous in the tunnel but i'm certainly pumped after those national anthems.

I've only just clocked the suits Italy's coaching staff are wearing, too.
They are knocking this out of the park.

David Bentley: Italy need to get to the final for their national anthem alone - TUNE.
Matt Lambert: Sneaky feeling about Turkey this evening. But my sneaky feelings are usually completely wrong so put your house on a big Italy win.

Excellent national anthem singing by the hosts.
The Italians are smashing this tournament and we've not even kicked a ball yet.

Domenico Berardi is one of the surprises tonight. He's had the best season of his career, he's scored 17 goals and this has been a long time coming.
In his first two seasons in Serie A he scored 31 goals with a small team Sassuolo. He's never moved on, never moved to a big club even though he's had offers he's always had offers, so it will be interesting to see him tonight on the biggest stage with the trust of Mancini if he can deliver.

Cesc Fabregas
Former Spain midfielder on BBC One
Burak Yılmaz was outstanding in the second half of the season and proved decisive, scoring big goals against Lyon and Nice. He was the main man and he loved it. You could see he was enjoying it and he was Lille's leader. I believe he could be the big danger for Turkey.

Speaking to people in the Italy camp, they think that a semi-final is realistic. They were always looking at this tournament as a stepping stone for the World Cup in Qatar, but the extra year has given some of the younger players another year of experience and certainly a lot of confidence going into this tournament as well.
This is a group of players, some of whom have never played in a tournament before. Italy didn't make the 2018 World Cup in Russia. There's a great deal of hunger and motivation going into this.
Then you look at the style of play and the generation Mancini has brought in. They are 27 games unbeaten and have won their last eight in a row and they are playing in a way that is un-Italy-like.
This team has been built around the midfield and the attack. There's a lot of quality, there's not a super star, but they think the star of this is the team, the style of play and the spirit within the group.

Italy were one of only two teams – alongside Belgium – to win 100% of their games in Euro 2020 qualifying (10/10).
They scored 37 goals across these 10 qualification matches, at an average of 3.7 per game.

Former England striker on BBC One
Turkey have the youngest squad but Burak Yilmaz up front, 35 years of age, can do some damage.
He inspired Lille to win the Ligue 1 title in France and can finish with his left and right foot.
If he is given a chance or two tonight, the ball will be in the back of the net.
Cesc Fabregas knows a thing or two about winning the European Championship. The former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder actually won it twice with Spain - as well as one World Cup.
Fabregas has just named his England team for this tournament on BBC One - although one or two are still recovering from injury.
He goes for: D Henderson, James, Stones, Maguire, Chilwell, J Henderson, Rice, Foden, Grealish, Mount, Kane.
What do you think?

Rio Ferdinand
Former England defender on BBC One
Caglar Soyuncu is someone who will play a part in leading this team, he is a very quick and assured defender.
In his first season in the Premier League he was outstanding but it was a bit stop-start last season.
He puts himself on the line, he is brave and comes up with big headers. He loves to win the first ball.
Turkey will need him to play well.

A performance of the official Uefa song by Martin Garrix, Bono and The Edge rounds off a superb opening ceremony.
Now, onto the game itself. Pumped!
