Austria haven't laid a glove on Italy so far in terms of shots on target, but they haven't given much away either. But if they get a chance, you'd feel like they have to grab it.

The Italians are starting to grind the Austrians down and dictate the play.

Ciro Immobile's effort was the best chance of the match since this one from Nicolo Barella earlier.

What an effort that was from Ciro Immobile. Going away from goal, laces the ball and there's all sorts of dip and movement on it. Daniel Bachmann is rooted and just watches it. What an effort!

Leonardo Bonucci deals with Marko Arnautovic and Italy are straight back on the attack.

Domenico Berardi slides it through to Ciro Immobile and he hits it first time again but it's blocked.

Ciro Immobile just hits it from nowhere and it pings off the outside of the post.

The keeper was stood still and so were most of the Austrian defence. He didn't give any inclination he was going to hit it!

Konrad Laimer nicks it off Marco Verratti, who thinks he's been fouled in the middle.

Austria will carry on with Marko Arnautovic and he wins a throw-in on the left.

Willem Mevius: If Austria keep dropping this far back it is not going to end well for them. But it is tricky: pushing up too high would just play into Italy's hands.

It's about the counter attack for Austria. Can they produce that moment of quality on the few occasions that they get up there in the final third? There is space behind Italy's back four, for sure.

Marco Verratti takes a quick free-kick and plays in Lorenzo Insigne on the left.

He holds it up and tries to chip it into the middle for Ciro Immobile but it's too long.

That's when the quality is needed. Three v two you won't get many of those. Can you play the right pass? You work on it all the time in training. Three v two, two v one, four v three. It was a poor ball wasn't it? He panicked. He played it too early.
