What a mistake from the goalkeeper. His concentration levels drop. He takes his eye off the ball, he's not even looking at the ball. If you're in any doubt at all you make sure you get the biggest part of your body behind the ball. He switches off. I think it's the first think that the keeper's had to do of any seriousness whatsoever.

And another chance for Spain.

Ferran Torres whips in a lovely cross which is inch-perfect for Alvaro Morata. Surely a goal? It's a terrible header!

Again, just waiting too long. Koke just found a huge gap in between the defence there. Gvardiol getting there in the end and the keeper made a good save with his feet.

A reminder that Pedri, who set up that chance, is 18. A wonderful talent.

Should have scored. Should have scored. Easy chance, one on one with the keeper. The through ball from Pedri was delightful, he carved open the defence with one pass.

A MASSIVE chance for Spain.

Koke has the ball at his feet inside the box and has a shot which is blocked by Dominik Livakovic.

It was a composed attempt but the Croatia keeper kept his cool to save his side.

Unai Simon has been a spectator since kick-off but the Spain keeper is off his line to gather as Croatia launch a rare attack.

Really interesting decision for Modric there.

For me, Croatia, for the start that they've had, set the ball and put the ball into the box. Modric opted to take the free-kick short and nothings come of it.

The chance was there for Morata but he refused it. He wanted to set up his pal and I do believe the angle was getting worse and worse as he pulled it back. He'd have to do really well to strike it from there.

Alvaro Morata sets up a chance for Pablo Sarabia who lashes it into the side-netting inside the box. Should Morata have had a dig himself? It was a tight angle for Sarabia.

The Spaniards are dominating possession and it's really difficult for Croatia. You have to remain calm in the head, stick with the plan and trust the process.

One of the most integral things at this stage is communication, who's dealing with who? Then you move into the game from there.

Rash challenge by Eric Garcia on Bruno Petkovic earns the Spain player a telling off from the referee. The free-kick just inside Spain's half comes to nothing. Croatia have not got going.

Croatia are struggling to gain a bit of momentum. As soon as they kicked off, they sent it long and you could see what they were trying to do; squeeze space and get into their formation. They seem to be happy to let Spain bank on and keep dealing with it.

Patient build-up by Spain but can they unlock the Croatian defence? There are nine black shirts behind the ball. Free-kick to the Spaniards which is whipped in and headed comfortably into the arms of the keeper by Azpilicueta.

I don't think Spain keeper Unai Simon has touched the ball yet.

Spain are getting some decent crosses into the box. The latest one is headed down by Torres but Koke is unable to make a clean connection.

There's a terrific noise inside the Parken Stadium which has thousands of Croatia fans inside but it's Spain who are playing the positive football. Cross-wires between Cesar Azpilicueta and Ferran Torres and Croatia are on the attack.
