What's interesting is that Jadon Sancho has had a pretty free role so far. He's cut inside off the right, picked the ball up in pockets in the middle and is linking up nicely with Raheem Sterling.

Kyle Walker is hugging the right touchline instead.

Got a goal by being positive and going forward, now, being negative allowing Ukraine to come at us. No one is looking to pass forward!!!

England have upped the tempo again in the last few minutes. They swarm the ball on the left as Ukraine try to get something going and eventually John Stones helps it back to Jordan Pickford.

Brilliantly worked from Jadon Sancho. Another player committing defenders and making things happen.

    Ooooooh!

Jadon Sancho has started very well. He drives at the defence, creates space and links up with Raheem Sterling.

It comes over to Luke Shaw on the left and he pulls it back into the space in the box but there's nobody there!

It's a strange game. England started on the front foot, but now they've dropped off and encouraged Ukraine to have the ball.

I want England to up the tempo a bit more. They're giving Ukraine too much confidence.

Josh Hammond: Right I'm promising myself not to say that you know what is coming you know where until after full time. Whenever someone says it the opposition get a chance!

Bob Moss: Ironically England scoring first is probably bad for the game, now England have lost the power of forward passing and how to attack.

Mykola Matviyenko goes down after some contact with Raheem Sterling and needs some treatment.

It's a chance for England to take on some water, and no doubt for John Stones to tell Kyle Walker what he thinks.

England started the game well. They press well. You still want to maintain the intensity of winning the ball back and attacking this team. You don't want to give them any hope at all.

    Are you still watching Michael?

England's goal was their earliest in a European Championship match (03:32) since Michael Owen v Portugal in 2004 (02:25).

The first real mistake from England. A loose ball, really dangerous.

I have to say though, John Stones shows him down the right angle. And it's a sharp save from Jordan Pickford, down to his right.

Jordan Pickford is so animated, it's like he's kicking every ball.

And when Harry Kane scored his goal I'd never seen him celebrate so much. More than the fans behind the goal.

Good from Yaremchuk, poor from Kyle Walker. Those are the things that creep into your game if you don't maintain that intensity.

    Nice from Kyle Walker.

He controls a high ball and coolly knocks it back to Jordan Pickford.

But Walker leaves John Stones short on the next pass back and Pickford has to tip a fierce shot from Roman Yaremchuk around the post for a corner! And breathe...

England's record when scoring in the opening four minutes at the Euros?

    Won - 0

    Drawn - 2

    Lost - 3

The two draws ended in shootout defeats.

    Hmm.

Kalvin Phillips is a good six yards inside Ukraine's half and he's allowed to stop, walk a bit, then knock it back to Harry Maguire.
