Everton's current number nine has also been banging in the goals. Dominic Calvert-Lewin strides out with his team-mates to the theme of Z Cars, while a relaxed Jose Mourinho has a chat with the Spurs mascots in the tunnel.

Everton will be paying tribute today to their greatest goalscorer.

Dixie Dean, who scored a record of 383 goals for the Blues in 433 games between 1925 and 1937, died on 1 March, 1980.

That was after he attended a match against Liverpool at his beloved Goodison Park.

A banner of Dean has been unfurled on the Gwaldys.

Jack: Cautiously confident. Greenwood and Martial could do great things as a pair

Sho: I'm not about this team at all. Would've played 3 at the back with Bailly in there. Also again no Williams. Matic is gonna be a problem.

Richard: Wow, Ole has returned to the 4-3-1-2 /4-4-2 diamond formation he was using when he first started at United. Why wait so long to bring it back? Especially with us lacking wide players. 4-2-3-1 is too defensive.

It's the third meeting between master and pupil with Nuno Espirito Santo hoping to record his first victory over the man who had him on the bench as reserve goalkeeper for both of his European triumphs with Porto.

The respect he has for Jose Mourinho is enormous but as Frank Lampard demonstrated last week that will only fuel the desire to beat him.

Despite winning three of their last four in the league, Spurs' striker crisis leaves them vulnerable. Wolves' defence has been impenetrable recently anyway while up front the goals have been flowing again.

The day starts with Tottenham higher in the table but it might not end that way.

I commentated on this game last season for MOTD. Everton's 4-0 victory is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's heaviest defeat since taking charge. That was the day it really dawned on Manchester United that they would not be qualifying for this season's Champions League.

This time around United start the weekend three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea but Everton, revitalised under Carlo Ancelotti, are also within touching distance of a European place.

The Merseysiders have yet to lose at home under the Italian and, in Dominic Calvert-Lewin, they have a striker in form; he has seven goals in his last nine league games.

The Goodison pitch is getting a last-minute soaking from the sprinklers after the players disappear back down the tunnel for their final prep. The Wolves players are still doing their warm-ups, with their opponents long gone down the tunnel.

Talking of prep, our Match of the Day commentators have done plenty of it. Here's their view on the games...

Everton midfielder Andre Gomes will make his first appearance at Goodison Park today since suffering a horror ankle injury against Spurs in November.

Just 119 days after the incident, which left Spurs forward Son Heung-min in tears and spectators shocked, Gomes has recovered. He has thanked the club doctor for his quick actions when resetting his ankle straight away at the time.

"If he hadn't done that, once I got to hospital, I don't want to say it would have been too late, but the more time in that wrong position, probably it would have been worse and more painful for me," Gomes told the Everton website., external"Basically, the doc did a brilliant job. I was feeling everything in that moment [on the pitch] - I was aware of it and, for me, it was much better to have the help of the doctor in that moment than maybe 10, 20 or 30 minutes after.”

With Harry Kane and Son Heung-min absent through injury, a vocal section of the Tottenham support has been calling for 18-year-old Troy Parrott to get his chance.

The teenager, capped by the Republic of Ireland, has seen just five minutes of Premier League action, coming on in Tottenham's 5-0 win over Burnley in December.

Despite a lack of forward options, boss Jose Mourinho has repeatedly said the youngster is not ready for first-team football... perhaps today he'll get the opportunity to prove otherwise?

  13. I can see myself in McTominay - Maticpublished at 13:36 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2020

Everton v Man Utd (14:00 GMT)

Scott McTominay made his first Manchester United start in two months after injury in Thursday's win over Club Bruges - and capped an impressive display with a goal.

“He is a very important player for us. He is very professional," Nemanja Matic told BBC Radio 5 Live

"He has a lot of quality and he has a great character. I like to see how he trains and how he plays. I am sure over the next 10/15 years, he will be very important for United. Every single day he gives his best and that’s what the main difference between players is.

“He has that mentality. I can see myself 10 years ago. The way he approaches games, how he listens to coaches and other players. Scott is one of those who is a complete football player, he is exactly what Manchester United needs.”

  18. Where does Liverpool's run rank?published at 13:30 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2020

Liverpool's remarkable defeat brought to an end a 44-game unbeaten run in the Premier League - just five games short of Arsenal's top-flight record.

It also meant they failed to secure an English league record 19th consecutive win, finishing their run on 18 - joint with Manchester City's landmark.

Liverpool's previous top-flight loss came when they were beaten 2-1 by eventual champions City on 3 January 2019 - 422 days ago.

Here is where their run ranks among the greats... (and we're not talking about Seb Coe or Haile Gebrselassie.)

There was only one story in Premier League town yesterday... Liverpool's unbeaten run ended.

It had to happen sometime, but few would have predicted it would be at Watford.

Liverpool's stunning 44-match unbeaten run came to a shuddering halt as the Hornets cruised to a sensational 3-0 victory.

    At least Arsenal were happy...

  20. Ancelotti bullish about Euro ambitionspublished at 13:24 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2020

Everton v Man Utd (14:00 GMT)

    Alistair Magowan
    BBC Sport at Goodison Park

Carlo Ancelotti gets to face Manchester United for the first time in his career without Sir Alex Ferguson in charge, and has used his programme notes to spell out his determination to close the gap to today's rivals.

The Italian, who has lost each of this last three games against United, said: "The table is tight and every point is really important. We have not been afraid to say we want to keep climbing and achieve European football."

This is the second of four successive matches against the traditional top six. Next weekend Ancelotti goes back to Chelsea and then it's a small matter of Liverpool at home.
