Ted Clarke: Wouldn’t it be nice if the BBC gave Lampard as much sympathy as other English managers in the PL, who don’t have anywhere near the expectations to manage that he does?

Re: Yellow card for removing shirt. I remember listening to a Radio 5 Live interview with a former FIFA or Uefa executive involved in the decision. It was brought in to 'protect' the name of the companies that paid to be on the front of teams shirts and ensure they received the exposure they 'deserved', especially when a goal had been scored by a player. As with most things in the modern game, money calls the shots, pure and simple.

Chelsea caught on the break again, two-on-two. They clear it away but why are they so short at the back?

Hull win a corner. The KC believes.

Josh Magennis heads into the goalmouth and it's just about cleared. Tense!

  12. 'Chelsea have got to go for third goal'published at 19:15 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 1-2 Chelsea

    Steve McClaren
Ex-England manager on BBC Radio 5 live

That's the trouble Chelsea have got - they've got to go for the third goal because they're not a team who can keep possession and not give Hull a sniff.

  13. Postpublished at 19:15 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 1-2 Chelsea

Ahhhh that's poor! A big chance for Hull as they have a two-on-two breakaway. Why Chelsea have so many up the pitch, I'm not so sure. Kamil Grosicki runs at Fikayo Tomori, who does well to channel him outside, and his shot can only slice wide of the near post.

They should have made more of that.

    Three minutes left.

  14. Kamil's quotapublished at 19:13 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 1-2 Chelsea

Kamil Grosicki has matched his home goal tally for the whole of last season for Hull in all comps (five), doing so in his 15th game at the KCOM this season (19 last).

  15. CLOSE!published at 19:13 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 1-2 Chelsea

That is close! Marcos Alonso goes for a big curler from the edge of the area and Reece Burke's head deflects it a yard or two over the top.

Colin Williams: re: Greg Morter's comment (18.57) - I'm a Reading fan and have every sympathy with Meite but we all know the rules: I'm sure he'll take the booking on the chin and move on. Delighted he scored at the end of a tough week for him but players could keep their shirts on.

Gaz Graham-passmore: I did say they would get a chance off Chelsea game on!!

  18. 'Big test for Chelsea'published at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 1-2 Chelsea

    Steve McClaren
Ex-England manager on BBC Radio 5 live

Big test for Chelsea, just to see what they've learned from the Arsenal and Newcastle games. They should have won them. Have they learned how to control a game? That's all about experience.

  19. Postpublished at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

Good defending Fikayo Tomori, who is being tested physically now by Josh Magennis. he rises well to head out.
