To Mariners fan 13:33. Did you watch Arsenal v Leeds United? Totally dominated by Leeds.

    Michael, Methley

Pleased we're 2-0 up but game is ruined by the red card. Sometimes in these situations I feel the opposition should be offered either a penalty or a red card. Both is sometimes a bit harsh.

    Phil, N Somerset

Not sure what the controversy is over the red card. Last man, clear goal scoring opportunity. Disappointed "neutrals" have Ream's foolishness to thank for gifting City the win.

This is the only danger for City now. Playing against 10-men they are going to get tired and get irate and you're going to risk our players getting injured.

I wonder if you asked both managers at half-time 'shall we end this now?' both would probably say 'yes, you're doing us a favour'.

Rae Stewart: “Dangerous territory, this,” Danny Murphy says when a 25-yard free kick’s given. At the moment, that entire big green space is dangerous territory for Fulham.

Jerry O'Connell: Things can only get better for T-Ream.

Stand down Raheem! Riyad Mahrez is fine to carry on. Bit of magic spray does the job.

Scott Parker's captain has let him down. He's now got to make sure he gets his players through the 90 minutes. It's a difficult balance - at 2-0 they still have a glimmer of hope but another goal from City and you are starting to think damage limitation.

David Silva is brought down by Stefan Johansen just outside the box for the second time in a few minutes.

Ilkay Gudogan is eyeing up the set-piece again too but Riyad Mahrez takes it. He ends up swinging it straight into the stands. Rubbish!

    On that...

Players who commit a foul to deny a goalscoring opportunity will no longer automatically be sent off.

Committing accidental fouls that deny a goalscoring chance will result in a yellow card BUT deliberate fouls still incur a red card.

Those 'deliberate fouls' include holding, pulling or pushing, not playing the ball, serious foul play, violent conduct or deliberate handball in order to deny a goalscoring opportunity.

That one from Tim Ream definitely ticked the 'deliberate foul' category.

As silly as a decision that is by the Fulham defender where is the double jeopardy rule? Surely giving man city a penalty means you are not denying them a clear and obvious goalscoring opportunity? You are penalising them twice. Game over and this tie will be stupidly easy now.

There is too much of a gulf between the Prem and the rest of the leagues. Maybe the Prem teams should play with 10 men in cup games to even it up!

    Conor McNamara

I'm not joking but I think Manchester City's seven subs of Ederson, Stones, Zinchenko, De Bruyne, Rodri, Sterling and Aguero could probably beat Fulham's 11.

    Their bench is ridiculous.

It is not too hard to tell the two team's heat maps apart, is it?

And just to explain that these graphics (and the one at 21 minutes) just illustrates where the Fulham players have played the ball.

If you took their average position when City were in possession, they would be even deeper.

Even the City fans groaned when that red card was shown! An uneven contest just became a training exercise.

    Ged, Manchester

Surprised VAR didn't look longer at that red card: Rodak was there, strong argument that it wasn't a goalscoring opportunity for Jesus. That said, mind-numblingly stupid from Ream. He's spoilt his team's chances, and the spectacle for the neutral.
