    Oxford v Newcastle (20:05 GMT)

Newcastle midfielder Matty Longstaff to BBC Sport: "We're expecting a tough game We've got a game plan we have to execute. Hopefully it will be enough.

"The biggest thing is take our chances when they come. We've done that in training.

"This could be the first time since 2006 we've been in the fifth round so for us and the fans it's massive."

  6. 'The game is big for both clubs'published at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2020

    Liverpool v Shrewsbury (20:00 GMT)

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

For these Liverpool youngsters, some of them are making their debut at Anfield, in front of these home fans. I know what’s happened with the FA but Jurgen Klopp has made his decision and fair play to him, he thinks it’s the right decision.

We need to talk about the cup game and for these youngsters - and you may say it’s only Shrewsbury – but it’s a big game for both the youngsters and Shrewsbury football club, so I think it’s going to be an entertaining game and they’ll be goals in it for sure.

Are Liverpool favourites? I’m not so sure but they’ll still be going into this game full of confidence and hopefully getting Liverpool through to the next round.

  8. 'Tonight is a free hit'published at 19:45 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2020

    Oxford v Newcastle (20:05 GMT)

Oxford manager Karl Robinson on BBC TV on his thoughts that replays should be cancelled...

"I still agree with it. But we're here now. Why not enjoy it? The stadium wll be full. The amount of young kids in Oxford getting the chance to watch a Premier League game, it's still important. But I don't think replays should be played. But we'll embrace the opportunity.

"We've got nine games this month which is ridiculous. But footballers want to play football. Tonight is a free hit, one we've got to enjoy."

On whether selling Tariqe Fosu and Shandon Baptiste to Brentford on deadline day leaves them short...

"It does. Hope this doesn't go across to Thailand [where Oxford's owner lives]. It will make it difficult. But we've got some wonderful players. We've got youthful energy.

"Hopefully it doesn't go to extra time and penalties."

  9. 'Replay at Anfield had potential to be legacy for club'published at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2020

    Liverpool v Shrewsbury (20:00 GMT)

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Shrewsbury manager Sam Ricketts speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: “We’re going to generate some money from this but nowhere near what it could’ve been if it had been different circumstances.

"It had the potential to be a real legacy for the club and put some infrastructure in place but it’s still more than what we would’ve got without a replay, so we’ll look at that on the positive side.

“It’s not only a winter break that was promised to Liverpool but it was also stipulated that they weren’t allowed to play games, go on tour in this break - but it would’ve been great if someone would’ve actually spoken to each other and said ‘ok, we might not put an FA Cup replay in that week either’, as I’m sure it would’ve been a different team Liverpool would’ve put out.

“I fully appreciate their situation and it was something they planned three months ago. I’ve got no qualms with that but it’s just disappointing that even the next round of the FA Cup – win or lose tonight - is on a Wednesday night. Have you ever known the fifth round to be on a Wednesday night?"

Birmingham City v Coventry City (19:45 GMT)

This tie may have had no goals in the first game but with Darren Bond taking charge of this fourth-round replay, there's every chance we'll have a smattering of cards.

So far this season the Lancashire-based official has refereed 22 games, producing a total of 77 yellow cards, one red, and awarding five penalties.

Hull's 2-1 win over Stoke in the Championship in December is the only game he's not issued a caution this term.

Last time out, Coventry fans were in the home end despite being tenants at St Andrew's

Bit of a peculiar one this fixture.

Coventry are ground sharing with Birmingham this year which means the tenants make the away trip to face their landlords.

Bizarrely, in the reverse fixture, Blues fans were situated in the away end.

Birmingham are winless in three games against Coventry in all competitions, since a 1-0 Championship win in August 2011.

  12. 'We have to approach with right mentality'published at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2020

    Derby v Northampton (19:45 GMT)

This is a "big game" for Derby, says manager Phillip Cocu.

The winners will host 12-time FA Cup holders Manchester United in the next round in early March.

"We have to be performing with the same level and desire as we did on Friday night [in the 4-0 win] against Stoke," said Cocu.

"It will be a difficult game for us so we have to approach it with the right mentality to try to get through to the next round."

  13. 'It's important we show up'published at 19:36 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2020

    Derby v Northampton (19:45 GMT)

Northampton manager Keith Curle has praised his club's 4,000 travelling fans.

"The support we’ve had has been phenomenal, we are creating a wave and the more people we get riding that wave the better,” he said.

“We will take a fantastic travelling vocal support on Tuesday night and it’s important we show up and take our identity into what I’m sure will be a great cup tie.

“There is an excitement and buzz about the group and it’s a good changing room to be in at the moment. We are working hard but the players are enjoying it and that’s important.“

Derby are unbeaten in five FA Cup matches against Northampton Town (W3 D2).

Five of Derby's last six FA Cup replays have gone to extra time, with three decided on penalties - the Rams have won all three of those shootouts.

Northampton have been eliminated from each of their last six FA Cup replays, last progressing via a replay in November 2007 against Darlington.

League Two Northampton earned a replay with Championship club Derby after a goalless draw on the Friday of the fourth-round weekend.

Cobblers forward Vadaine Oliver went closest to a breakthrough in the first half, striking the crossbar from close range.

Curtis Davies headed wide in the second half for the visitors, who failed to register a shot on target.

The Godfather, Back to the Future, The Lord of the Rings… Cinema has given us some memorable trilogies.

Tonight, we get the final act of the FA Cup and Championship epic in three parts, The Cardiff-Reading Trilogy.

This is the third time the teams have met in 10 days – and the consistency of the encounters is remarkable.

Both previous meetings – the initial FA Cup tie and last Friday’s Championship fixture – have ended 1-1, and on both occasions it has been Yakou Meite giving Reading the lead and Callum Paterson equalising for Cardiff.

So don’t be surprised if there’s another draw tonight, and if this is one of the matches which goes the distance.

    Liverpool v Shrewsbury (19:45 GMT)

This is more like Liverpool's Under-21s than Under-23s.

While Shrewsbury skipper Dave Edwards celebrated his 34th birthday on Monday, Liverpool have one 16-year-old starting in the shape of Harvey Elliott and another on the bench in defender James Norris.

Seven of Liverpool's 10 outfield players are teenagers while, at the age of 22, Spanish midfielder Pedro Chirivella is the oldest player in the side.

  20. 'Klopp looking after player welfare'published at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2020

    Liverpool v Shrewsbury (19:45 GMT)

    Rob Green
Former West Ham and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's Jurgen Klopp's decision. He's turned the whole thing around onto the powers that be and said 'we got promised this break and my responsibility is the players' welfare'.

So he's turned it around on them by saying 'I'm looking after the players because no-one else is and you, as governing body, are not looking after the players'.

It's an interesting one because he's done it before with the game against Everton where he changed the team and said 'we're not favourites now' and still beat them, so it's clever mind games.

Coming from Germany, he thinks we're crazy playing all these games, so it's a really interesting quandary and one were you're thinking he's got the upper ground here.
