    Leicester 4-0 Aston Villa

Approaching half-time, prior to Pepe Reina gifting Leicester an opener, this was going pretty well for Aston Villa.

Their goal difference is taking a real hit now and the 56 goals they've conceded is the most in the Premier League this season - by four goals.

Barnstorming. So, so slick. They’ve grown as the game has gone on. Some of the passing is exquisite.

Barnes doesn’t break stride. He strolls onto the ball and fires the ball past Pepe Reina. He uses the pace of the ball, caresses it into the corner.

  3. goal

    Harvey Barnes

It's starting to get ugly for Dean Smith and Aston Villa.

Harvey Barnes has been excellent once again for Leicester this evening and bags his second of the evening.

Villa can't live with him as he races clear to latch on to Marc Albrighton's pass and send Leicester four goals up. They're showing no sign of letting up.

    Leicester 3-0 Aston Villa

Wilfred Ndidi's night is over, as Nampalys Mendy enters the field.

Ndidi's influence on this Leicester side cannot be mentioned enough. Brendan Rodgers will be desperate to keep him fighting fit for the run-in.

What a finish from Jamie Vardy. Leicester went from one end to the other.

Harvey Barnes pops the ball out to Vardy. He tries to feed the ball back to Barnes. It pops up and he hammers a half-volley past Reina at his near post. It had too much pace for Reina and Vardy has been too much for Aston Villa.

  6. goal

GOAL - Leicester 3-0 Aston Villapublished at 79 mins

    Jamie Vardy

    Jamie Vardy is BACK!

This all stems from Jonny Evans winning the ball back on the edge of the Leicester penalty area, which then sets the Foxes on their way.

Vardy is picked out by Harvey Barnes on the left of the box, attempts a ball back into the box which is blocked but then reacts quickest to fire in and all but seal the points.

    Leicester 2-0 Aston Villa

This is looking like four straight Premier League defeats for Aston Villa unless they can produce something special in the closing stages.

Things aren't set to get any easier for Dean Smith's side either, with Chelsea up next.

How can the VAR officials draw the offside line from the shoulder (as the furthest forward part of the body you're allowed to score with), then give a penalty for that? Once again, no consistency.

    Joe in Tooting

17 replays & still a stupid decision. Problem is bad refs, not var.

Rubbish penalty decision. What happened to the "below the armpit" clarification issued during the week?

    Adrian

So you can be offside by a shoulder and therefore score with it but cannot defend with it... Clear as mud that.

    Damien, Kent

Poor decision from VAR for the penalty clearly hits his shoulder and his arm moves to break his fall.

That penalty was, in fact, Jamie Vardy's first touch of the ball since his 59th-minute substitution.

How can you give that? I think it's off his shoulder.

Jamie Vardy has words with Pepe Reina. He's not happy about something. But Leicester have been very good in that second half.

How that penalty was awarded, I don't know. Aston Villa have been harshly done by.
