  11. 'Good cup run could define season' - McInnespublished at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2020

    Aberdeen v Kilmarnock (15:01)

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes says his side will need to show their quality to beat a Kilmarnock side who have "found their shooting boots" after two successive wins and six goals over 180 minutes.

"For me the whole narrative of the season can be defined by a good cup run and that's what we want to do," McInnes tells BBC Scotland. "We've always felt we've been a very good cup team - I think the stats show that.

"We want to make sure we start enjoying playing at home again. We know to beat a resolute and organised Kilmarnock team we'll need to show our qualities."

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin: "It’s a great opportunity for both clubs to get a place in the last eight.

"There’s no fear, there’s no pressure on us. We’re going into the game as slight underdogs because of Motherwell’s league position and ours. I want the players to have that self-belief that they are capable of beating a very good Motherwell team."

St Mirren are 10th in the Scottish Premiership, having drawn 1-1 with Hamilton Accies on Wednesday night.

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson: "St Mirren will see it the same as we do – a chance to progress. This is a one-off game. They’ve improved, both games in the league were very close even if the scoreline in one of the game doesn’t reflect that."

"The injuries had a massive impact on the game. After 75 minutes the legs were tired but we couldn't make changes because we had used all three subs.

"Young Jamie Hamilton made a mistake for the penalty but I'm not worried about him, he's a big character."

That's where they attempt to pull off a giant-killing on Sunday against top-flight Hibernian, having already knocked out League One sides Forfar Athletic and East Fife on their run to the last 16.

    Aberdeen v Kilmarnock (15:01)

"He [McInnes] deserves time to put it right," Dyer tells BBC Scotland. "It's not like they are in a crisis - I don't think so.

"It's a big challenge today, good side, big club, it's going to be very tough. Hopefully we can come here and get a result. It's important for us to carry on winning games and keep that momentum going.

"We're not getting carried away, but we're in a good place at the moment. We're working hard, creating more chances, and the boys are taking them."
