They were very powerful moments before kick-off. As well as players and officials taking the knee at the sound of referee Michael Oliver’s whistle the players are wearing the slogan “Black Lives Matter” on the back of their shirts.

This came after that minute’s silence for those who have died in the Coronavirus pandemic.

The action is under way and Aston Villa have looked a bit more dangerous so far.

Villa are on the front foot, John Terry is barking out orders. That was a comfortable save but a good start from Villa.

My head is struggling to process this is a competitive game without the crowd noises to add a bit of oomph to things.

Aston Villa win the game's first corner, Sander Berge heads clear but the ball is put back into the mix for Conor Hourihane, whose well-struck shot is beaten away by Dean Henderson.
