  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 61 mins

    Aston Villa 0-0 Sheff Utd

All Aston Villa now with Jack Grealish orchestrating things. He skips a couple of challenges on the left before feeding John McGinn on the edge of the area but the midfielder's fierce effort is pushed away by Dean Henderson.

  2. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Aston Villa 0-0 Sheff Utd

Almost again for Aston Villa as Jack Grealish drives through the middle before pinging an effortless ball out wide to Anwar El Ghazi. The forward gets in behind the Sheffield United defence and squares for Keinan Davis but the ball is agonisingly just out of his reach.

  3. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Aston Villa 0-0 Sheff Utd

"SQUEEZE OUT," screams Chris Wilder - love being able to hear pretty much everything the players and managers say.

The players oblige as Oliver Norwood swings a cross in from the right but the ball goes out for a throw at the other side of the pitch.

  4. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Aston Villa 0-0 Sheff Utd

Another corner for Aston Villa - their eighth of the game - as Conor Hourihane's delivery finds Keinan Davis by the forward's header is cushioned into Dean Henderson's hands.

    Changes, lots of them.

Manchester City make eight changes from the team beaten in the Manchester derby way back at the start of March.

In come Kyle Walker, Gabriel Jesus, Aymeric Laporte, Kevin de Bruyne, David Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Riyad Mahrez and Eric Garcia.

Sergio Aguero is on the bench. Fantasy woe.

Arsenal also make changes, five of them. Bellerin, Tierney, Mustafi, Willock and Guendouzi all come in.

  6. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Aston Villa 0-0 Sheff Utd

Oh, great save by Dean Henderson!

Matt Targett lifts the ball into the box, Keinan Davis brings it under control before smashing a strong effort towards goal but Henderson pushes behind for a corner.

    What a chance that was.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Sheff Utd

A slightly concerning moment for Aston Villa after Jack Grealish gets caught late by Billy Sharp but the midfielder is back on his feet soon enough and OK to continue.

  9. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Aston Villa 0-0 Sheff Utd

Aston Villa start the second half like they did the first - on the front foot.

An early corner is cleared but then play is stopped because Jack Grealish is down and in some discomfort...

  10. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Aston Villa 0-0 Sheff Utd

Blades boss Chris Wilder still looks very bemused by that decision not to award his side a goal as the teams come out for the second half.

    We're back under way.

Some news from elsewhere in football and it is great news for Barrow because they have been promoted to the English Football League after a National League vote.

    Congratulations Barrow!

Guess the Premier League forgot to mention its latest Covid-19 precaution... the ball has to be at least 2m over the line for it to count...

It looks like a goal full stop so why has it not been given? There was a bit of a push on the keeper but he didn't give a foul so they played on.

Did it not cross the line? It's unlikely but I want to believe in the technology. You usually get the replay when you see the ball on the line and they haven't shown that yet.

That makes me wonder. Someone may have forgot to plug it in!

It looked so far in, he was past the post. The goalkeeper knows he made a mistake, you can see it on his face!

    It was over the line.

  17. Postpublished at 18:54 British Summer Time 17 June 2020

Welcome back technology - the familiar sight of players in deep discussion with the referee as Sheffield United players clearly feel they they were robbed of a goal with Orjan Nyland seeming to carry Oliver Norwood’s free-kick over the line.

Not a bad game in these surreal surroundings - but not a particularly good one either.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:50 British Summer Time 17 June 2020

Goalless at the break but the major talking point will be that Oliver Norwood free-kick that appeared to cross the line, but nothing was given.
