I've got to say, forgive me, I may be wrong but from the images I'm seeing that looks like it crossed the line.

    Why hasn't VAR intervened?

Just watching the replays Orjan Nyland is holding the ball in the sidenetting and it looks to be behind the post. It certainly looks like it is over, but the technology says no.

A massive talking point for half time.

I'd like to see that again - he was in the back of the net! That has gone in surely?

Oliver Norwood sends the ball towards the far post, it's over everyone's heads and it's gone in!

Oh wait, no! Referee Michael Oliver points at his watch to say it hasn't crossed the line!

Football's back for barely 45 minutes and controversy already!

Sheffield United are gaining in confidence, particularly down their right-hand side. Slowly but surely they are causing Villa some problems.

But that's another great opportunity for Villa - Kortney Hause didn't expect it to come to him.

Almost again for Aston Villa from another set piece as Kortney Hause chests wide from a Conor Hourihane corner.

Pete Mistry: It's right to state that there are bigger priorities than football. But it is also absolutely fine to yearn for it to be back and to do everything possible to make it happen in a safe and risk-managed way. I am delighted that it is back.

That could be given as a penalty! Lundstram caught him - El Ghazi was looking for it but there was contact.

We have the monitors and there was contact. That's a penalty.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Sheff Utd

Ohh, that's a penalty, isn't it? Anwar El Ghazi gets into the box and is sent to the ground by John Lundstram. If there were a crowd, they would be screaming for a spot kick but nothing given by referee Michael Oliver and VAR doesn't intervene with the decision.
