  1. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Manchester City 1-0 Arsenal

Raheem Sterling charges through a challenge and then finds Kevin de Bruyne on the overlap, he checks his run and hits a shot but it's well charged down.

  2. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Manchester City 1-0 Arsenal

No shot on target in the first half for the visitors, with captain Aubameyang pretty much anonymous. He's not the only one but he is the best attacking threat they've got.

Plenty of replacements warming up for Arsenal, who can still make three subs of course. As I understand it though they can only make one more stoppage, so they would have to bring all three on at once, if that makes sense.

City deserve to be 1-0 up. There was a period of 20-25 minutes there when Kevin de Bruyne was running it. He was picking out forwards for fun but the ball that led to the goal was one of his poorer balls. We know that mistake is there with David Luiz and that is the difference between the two teams so far.

  11. Sterling is backpublished at 21:09 British Summer Time 17 June 2020

    Manchester City 1-0 Arsenal

    Raheem SterlingImage source, Reuters

Raheem Sterling has been directly involved in six goals in his last seven Premier League appearances for Man City against Arsenal (4 goals & 2 assists).

That was his 28th shot of 2020 and his first goal!

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 17 June 2020

    Manchester City 1-0 Arsenal

City lead at the break. A tepid first 30 minutes but then the champions found something like their best form.

Another gaffe and two injuries for the Arsenal though. Not a vintage 45.

  13. 'Luiz should have read that'published at 21:04 British Summer Time 17 June 2020

    Manchester City 1-0 Arsenal

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The ball was played in and of course it was Kevin de Bruyne. Problem was it was not a good ball, David Luiz misread it because it zipped off the ground but that is not an excuse, he should have read it. A bit slack there by David Luiz.

  14. goal

GOAL - Manchester City 1-0 Arsenalpublished at 21:03 British Summer Time 17 June 2020

    Raheem Sterling (45+2 mins)

    GOAL!

In these unprecedented times there's something nice about a good old-fashioned precedented David Luiz error to usher in the new era.

Kevin de Bruyne clips a good ball over the top, Luiz tries to take it on his thigh but the ball zips right through him to allow Raheem Sterling in behind.

He charges on, lets the ball bounce and then thrashes it past Bernd Leno who had no chance this time. Great hit.

  15. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Manchester City 0-0 Arsenal

How's the game going? Bernd Leno has had 29 touches so far; five more than any other Arsenal player.

  16. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Manchester City 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal now have half a sniff as Bukayo Saka's deep free-kick runs through the goalmouth. Nobody can get on it though. Looks like three goalless halves to start Project: Restart.

  17. CLOSE!published at 39 mins

    Manchester City 0-0 Arsenal

    Oh again!

That might be an even better pass from Kevin de Bruyne, who has found his level now after a steady opening half hour. Another, perfect pass tees up Raheem Sterling who lifts it over the keeper, but over the top as well.

    Just a brilliant ball.

The ball from Kevin de Bruyne was genius. Most players would try to have a shot there but he slips the ball through. Great save in the end.

  19. CLOSE!published at 37 mins

    Manchester City 0-0 Arsenal

Well that was almost brilliant - again. David Silva weaves past two men, Messi-style, he can't shoot but finds Kevin de Bruyne, who winds up for one but instead pops a lovely, disguised pass into the run of Riyad Mahrez, and Bernd Leno stops his effort with his shins.

Good goalkeeping, but nearly a lovely goal.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 34 mins

    Manchester City 0-0 Arsenal

Here we go, Manchester City have dialled it up now. Trademark slick passing on the edge of the area opens up a space for David Silva, he hits a low shot across goal and again Bernd Leno gets down really well to save.

I've just remembered that Silva is off at the end of the season. A real loss.
