Anyone picked up any new skills during lockdown?

I haven't, obviously, but my mate has turned into a Premier League groundsman.

    Lawn

Just look at that he's just sent through! Magnificent work.

    Norwich v Southampton (18:00 BST)

A global economic crash of unprecedented scale hasn't worried the chiefs at the Saints.

While in lockdown striker Shane Long has signed a two-year extension to his contract, while manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has penned a new four-year contract until 2024.

Barnaby Hands: As someone who goes to games regularly (and would have been at Carrow Road for this fixture were it possible), I think playing crowd noise is insulting to the fans who actually make an atmosphere on match day. It comes across as suggesting that fans are replaceable

There is the novelty factor of that, I'll grant you. If you've just got a game on as 'background' viewing than the artificial crowd is a must.

Definitely better without crowd noise. 5 minutes of that and I wanted to pull my ears off. Love hearing the players shout at each other

Everyone on my estate is lovely. Top class. The sort of people who, if they read this, will definitely send some food and maybe drinks over to number 10.

    Surely.

Well this is all very strange. We’re dotted around the press box four seats apart and it’s hard to believe a game is about to kick off.

I was here on 28 February for Norwich’s last home game when they beat Leicester 1-0 and this place was jumping - the contrast could not be any starker tonight. But we have football.

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl talking to Sky Sports: "It is important to get back playing. Special circumstances, no fans, no atmosphere, but we are still looking forward to an intense game.

"No one knows what level we are, so it will be interesting to see who adapts.

"As soon as possible as much is possible is the slogan for the last nine games. "

    The stats would suggest so.

    • Only Southampton (14) have managed to win fewer home points this season than Norwich (15 - P14 W4 D3 L7)
    • Only Liverpool (12), Man City (9), Chelsea (7) and Leicester (7) have won more Premier League away games this season than Southampton (6)

You'd imagine that Southampton have already secured their place in the Premier League for next season - whenever that may be.

The Saints are looking to complete a top-flight league double over Norwich for the first time, with this the 22nd season they’ve met in England’s top division.

    Media caption,

What do fans think about artificial crowd noise at football games?

Yes to the artificial crowd noise or no?

From what I've seen and heard so far it's not as good as the German one - yet. That is top class.

But still much better than silence IMO.

Just seen Norwich midfielder Tom Trybull with a facemask with his own squad number on it.

I presume that's who it was anyway. We now see the newly familiar sight of players scrambling for an access code on their phones to be let inside the stadium.
