Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BBC Radio 5 live: "The game had a lot of key moments and City used them. That is how it is. We had our moments where we were really close to make something but City were really there. They used our mistakes, we didn't use their mistakes.
"The game was open but it clicked more for City than for us. But I wanted to see a brilliant attitude and I saw that, the boys were really fighting. Nobody was like 'hey I am coming here, we don't care'. We care a lot. That is how it feels, it feels not good and it should not feel like it is.
"If there is a team in the world that can smash us like this it is probably City but we will come again. Make a few things better and it could look differently but for tonight that is it.
"If City are clicking it is uncomfortable to play them. It is very uncomfortable to play us. We had good moments but it is difficult to mention them because we lost 4-0. The boys showed we are ready to fight again."

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder praised his side's "decent performance" during their 3-1 win, but branded VAR a "farce" after a Spurs goal was disallowed due to handball.
"It has been a tough few weeks for us as a football club, we watned to come out of the traps but obviously didn't," he said.
"I saw signs on Sunday against Arsenal and we took it on tonight against a side with a manager I have a huge amount of respect for."
On the VAR decision: "There is no deliberate handball in there. I think it is a bit of a farce rule at the moment. We've been the victims of a couple of those decisions. I still don't think it is the right decision if I am being honest.
"One has gone for us and we will gladly take that but I hope the game isn't dominated by that decision and is looked at as a decent performance from us."

Their lead at the top is cut to 20, with the record gap between first and second and the end of a Premier League season the 19 City managed in 2017-18.
They can't now equal City's record for away wins in a season, though. City got 16 in, wait for it, 2017-18. The most Liverpool can now get is 15.

It was men against boys tonight. Yes Liverpool are champions and they have had their celebrations, but I'm putting this down to a blip. Next time we see them, they will be on it.

City give Liverpool a guard of honour and then make their point. They won't be winning the war this season, but victory in the final battle of the campaign between the two is a nice little reminder that next season is going to be a fresh start for both.
