Spurs come again in a wave but there's just no space. They're trying to play an immaculate pass and the Blades get enough men back to shut down the angles.

It could have been 2-0. David McGoldrick should have gone across the goalkeeper.

Still no Premier League goal for David McGoldrick then - he's off and on comes Lys Mousset.

  6. CLOSE!published at 61 mins

    Sheffield United 1-0 Tottenham

The fake sound man gets over excited, letting a big roar go but nope, David McGoldrick has fired into the side netting!

Sander Berge was the driving force again, putting in a cross/shot from the right which Hugo Lloris rather flapped at and McGoldrick screwed just wide.

Just the one [legitimate] shot on target from Spurs so far. they've got to crank it up a notch. Erik Lamela has a mazy run down the middle but he drives into a cul-de-sac and it's cleared.

Steven Bergwijn has got in some good areas. He's tried to drive forward. Erik Lamela is something different. They need a bit more creativity, pace and power. I expect to see several Spurs changes.

Spurs now winding up with a bit of steady pressure and possession, a light blue tide lapping against the striped shore. Ben Davies then overhits a pass though and pulls the plug out.

It's an Alan Knill special for the free-kick, popped short into a man in the wall and turned round the corner for Jack Robinson to run onto. Hugo Lloris has read it though and sweeps it up.

Moussa Sissoko then overhits a pass by about 40 yards and puts it out for a corner. Spurs not at it.

Scrappy start to the half, that's a lovely reverse pass from Ollie Norwood though and the Blades get a free-kick in a decent area. Danger here.

Excellent from Lucas Moura, barreling through two or three challenges to drive into the box and win a corner. People are even arguing whether that photo I put in shows the ball touching his arm or not now.

What a divided society we live in.

Paul Dengel: VAR missing the point there. Clearly what looked like an intentional elbow on Son. Norwood looks at Son then elbows him in the face. That's what VAR is supposed to be for surely? Giving advice to the referee for things he has missed.

Tom Mcquillen: IT DIDNT HIT MOURA’S ARM. Why is no one taking about this?! Find me one still image that definitively shows that it hit his arm, even if it was unintentional. I bet you can’t. That’s your job for halftime.

Steve Adams: Right call, bad rule. VAR exposing just how un-enforceable some rules are in football.
