  1. CLOSE!published at 54 mins

    Norwich 0-1 Man Utd

    Floodgates?

United sniff another as Bruno Fernandes keeps the ball in play and then goes well to pick out Jesse Lingard, but the England international's curler towards the far corner is blocked.

Paul: He may have scored against a pathetic Norwich defence but Ighalo still shouldn't be a United player. Sir Alex would never have signed him. He's a sign of how much United have fallen. He wouldn't get into the team of any other club in the top nine of the Premier league.

That right there is the attraction and the beauty of Odion Ighalo - the right place, right time type of striker. Look at the concentration, he just knew he needed to get good contact on it. It's a really good finish, with the way he had to adjust his body.

You don't see Marcus Rashford or Anthony Martial scoring those times of goals - the fox in the box type goals.

    Breakthrough!

United finally create a good opportunity and find the opener.

A few sneered when they signed Odion Ighalo on-loan in January but the Nigerian is paying them back handsomely.

The Nigerian is exactly where you want your front man to be, six yards out from goal, pivoting his body to hook home from Juan Mata's pass.

A really good striker's finish with a nose for a goal.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have been tempted to make changes at half-time but I do always think it's right to say your piece and give the players a chance after that. But, they did start the first half reasonably well and then faded away. The subs are out too so that's always an indication to players to pick up.

United have a few subs out warming up.

Paul Pogba is one of those, only a matter of time before he gets the nod to come on.

Both teams must have been listening to our half-time analysis because they definitely needed to pick it up. It's lovely play from Todd Cantwell.

    Norwich 0-0 Man Utd

Norwich are getting joy everytime they make their way forward.

Todd Cantwell has been their most dangerous outlet so far, playing a one-two with Lukas Rupp but then seeing his pullback toward Teemu Pukki cleared at the front post.

What a chance for Manchester United at the start of the second.

Fred dinks a delightful pass onto the run of Bruno Fernandes inside the area - the flag stays down - but the Portuguese makes a real hash of his attempts acrobatic effort and fluffs his lines.

Liam Hayes: Honestly Bruno Fernandes is the most overrated football player to play for United. Makes a standard 20 yard pass and everyone just talks about it. Honestly so overrated.

Chris: How many chances does Lingard need? Has been woeful every game he's played - including this half. Slows play down, heavy touches and gives away possession constantly. Get rid!

I think Norwich can go on and do something here if they have belief but I do expect United to get better but let's face it they can't get any worse.

Seth Gogo Egoeh: That was a terrible first half performance from Man United. Lingard looked lost and there were too many back passes! I hope Ole is not taking Norwich for granted. Changes needed in 2nd half.

Cllr G McGinnigle: First 45 minutes of football I have managed to watch in ages. Why did I ever bother? Rancid game.

I'd have struggled playing behind closed doors. I like playing up to the crowds, especially when you're away and you're winning and you see them leaving early with a few minutes to go,

I used to say 'see ya next week.', 'you going?'. I'd be a nightmare you'd be able to hear me too much.

  18. 'United haven't got started'published at 18:22 British Summer Time 27 June 2020

    Norwich 0-0 Man Utd

    Alan Shearer
Former England captain on BBC One

United boss Solskjaer might have to make couple of changes to inject belief into the team. They've got to realise it's the quarter-finals of the Cup - they just haven't got started.

As for Norwich, Teemu Pukki's confidence is low. It seems like Norwich players don't have belief to commit players forward.

  19. 'United have been dreadful'published at 18:21 British Summer Time 27 June 2020

    Norwich 0-0 Man Utd

    Alan Shearer
Former England captain on BBC One

It's like a training ground game. United have been dreadful, they've never got out of first gear. Nothing is going in behind and it's been far too easy for Norwich. If only they had a bit more belief in themselves, they'd be winning this game.
