Paul Walmsley: Is it just me or has Robertson looked really off the pace since the league restart? Was really poor against City and hasn't really started too well here against Villa.

Peter Shields: I have to disagree with Mark Lawrenson. All the pressure is off Liverpool so they should be able to relax and play their best football. Professional pride should kick in and they should be performing like the Champions they are.

Mane is dropping deeper and deeper in search of the ball. Salah remains firmly in the Villa half, though, and misses out on a potential shot when his control lets him down from a low ball from the right.

You've really got your work cut out for you if you're determined to dislike James Milner. But then who would?

We've reached the first drinks break and Villa be absolutely delighted with their work so far. Jack Grealish is doing some serious patch-up work on his left foot. His boot is off, he's cutting away at his sock. Might be a little cut that just needs a bit of padding.

Villa fashion a half-chance from the free-kick as Grealish's cross into the box is headed towards but well over the goal by Konsa.

He may be into his late 30s, but Pepe Reina is still alert and can certainly shift when he needs to. He charges out of his box to clear the ball and prevent Sadio Mane charging in for a dig.

A decent Liverpool attack comes to an end as Salah holds on to the ball too long on the right side after being released via a driving run and pass from Mane.

Terrific player, Salah. Doesn't always release the ball when he should, though.

There's no great intensity from Liverpool yet. It's so far, so good for Aston Villa.

Liverpool are doing OK without being at their sparkling best. I know it's early in the match, but even so.

Well, Grealish is back up and he's going to carry on. One to monitor, though, that.

Now this is really worrying for Villa. Grealish is down, and not in a 'I've just won a foul' way. He is on all fours stretching what appears to be his calf. If there is one player they cannot lose, it is this man.

The pattern of the game will be familiar to anyone that has watched a game at Anfield this season - Liverpool largely camped in the opponent's half, spraying square balls from right to left, looking for an opening.
