Fulham, without Aleksandar Mitrovic, lack that dominant figurehead.

But what it does do is make their forward line really fluid and harder to pick up.

Josh Onomah will push on, so will Neeskens Kebano and likewise Bobby Decordova-Reid.

Brentford can't just anticipate a out-and-out forward. Keeps them on their toes.

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Brentford want the free-kick here, as Josh Dasilva drives to the byline, but the Bees man is told to get up.

Joe Bryan, sliding in, didn't catch him.

  3. CLOSE!published at 47 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Sizzler from Neeskens Kebano, but it's into the side-netting.

Great effort. Similar to his semi-final first-leg effort against Cardiff.

    Fulham close again.

  4. Postpublished at 46 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Rico Henry chases his own tail like a confused dog and Fulham get the ball back down the right touchline.

Then the Brentford full-back hauls down Bobby Decordova-Reid.

    Free-kick.

Right, the task is simple. You've got 45 minutes to put yourselves into the Premier League.

If you can't do it in that time, one of you, there's extra time. And penalties.

Please, do it in entertaining fashion though, lads.

    Yours, us.

Brentford get us under way. The talking is over.

Here's a selection of what some of you have had to say on that Harrison Reed challenge on Christian Norgaard...

Kyle: It was a late tackle but it wasn't a red card. Yellow card was a fair call from the referee. Football is a lot softer than it used to be. Not every foul is a yellow card and not every hard but late foul is a red card. Good call from a quality experienced referee.

Josh Earl: Reed lucky not to go for that.

Stavros Makro: It was definitely a red. Reed, very lucky boy!

It's been fairly entertaining fare from Wembley, as two high-quality teams do their best to create without allowing the other sides' ample threat catch them on the break.

Fulham, if you look at their games across the season, routinely dominate possession. It's their way.

Brentford aren't often shackled as impressively as this but it will be interesting to see if Harrison Reed's yellow card - an avoidable one - leaves him second-guessing if put in a tackle-or-leave-it situation at some point in the second half.

There's been a mixed response to his challenge on our social media channels - some saying yellow card, some thinking it should have been a red.

You sense that if Brentford get one goal, that will draw Fulham on and that's when they can exploit some space.

It's certainly been a tactical battle in the first half, and the match became cagier as we approached half-time.

Fulham have certainly had the better of it, but it has been a fairly underwhelming occasion so far. Certainly not a Championship play-off final classic.

Brentford's BMW - Said Benrahma, Bryan Mbeumo and Ollie Watkins - have barely got started. But all three are capable of a moment of magic which can change a game.

Just how fit is Aleksandar Mitrovic? How long will Fulham boss Scott Parker wait to introduce his 26-goal striker while the game remains 0-0?

No score in a first half which Fulham had the better of - just.

Josh Onomah's early effort was the best chance, saved strongly by David Raya.

Brentford showed flashes and look solid in defence.

    Still all to play for.

Only one minute of added time. It's been a largely clean game.

  12. 'It was a crude challenge from Reed'published at 45 mins

It's not really taken off, Brentford haven't created that much but have looked a threat on the counter.

Fulham midfielder Harrison Reed must have given Martin Atkinson pause for thought with one crude challenge sliding in on Christian Norgaard - he missed the ball, studs up catching Norgaard on top of the foot on to the shin, it was a yellow card but it was one of those when you look at it and think could it be a red.

  13. Postpublished at 44 mins

Sloppy giveaway from Henrik Dalsgaard, who berates himself before getting into position to close down the Fulham attack.

Again, Fulham pour forward but the cross from the left whizzes kindly into David Raya's palms.

Almost half-time, plus stoppages of course.

  14. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Fulham again dicing with danger as they knock the ball about at the back as Brentford come out of the shadows to close down.

The panicked clearance has the unruffled Scott Parker, er, ruffled.

He does lose his cool, slightly, sometimes.

While Fulham will boss the possession stats as we head towards the break, you can't say that Ethan Pinnock and Pontus Jansson will go into the dressing rooms too bathed in perspiration.

There were a couple of palpitations a moment ago as right-back Denis Odoi found himself in nosebleed territory on the edge of the Brentford box.

He cut inside but his shot was blocked and the Bees cleared.

  16. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Fulham starting to ping the ball about a bit quicker now.

I think they acknowledge the Brentford defence is going to take some breaking down.

Tom Cairney makes a big tackle on Said Benrahma in the centre circle. The little Algerian is tigerish about it but he's not going to win that physical battle.

  17. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Ollie Watkins channelling a bit of Peter McParland there (ask your grandad about that one, kids) as he bundles into Fulham keeper Marek Rodak.

Free-kick under the Fulham crossbar. Bryan Mbeumo got a good head to the knock-down though.

Josh Earl: Would love to see Brentford come up, absolute joy to watch, play excellent football. Also, their front three are just brilliant. Definitely don't think would be out of place in the Premier League.

Mark Gomez: Would love to see Fulham back in the top flight.

Erunke: I hope Brentford win tonight and taste top-flight football for the first time in more than half a century, not as if I hate Fulham though.

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Fulham almost lulled themselves into a mistake there as Tim Ream and Michael Hector exchanged passes.

Ollie Watkins just stepped up a little and suddenly Fulham had to react, Hector whacking the ball into touch.

Brentford got in behind a moment ago but Christian Norgaard's hook to the back post found no-one home and the Fulham defence cleared.

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Fulham have done a really good job of smothering Brentford's 'BMW' attack, probably the best evidence of this is how deep Said Benrahma has had to drop in order to get the ball.

He's shown a couple of decent touches and flourishes, but not in the final third really.
