    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Brentford have edged their way into the contest.

Neat passage of play between the midfielders releases Said Benrama on the left and he puts it down the line to Rico Henry.

He might have had a dig himself from an acute angle but instead cuts back and the shot from Mathias Jansen pinballs between legs on the edge of the box.

  2. Postpublished at ET 4 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Fulham let fly from distance from Aboubakar Kamara's shot but David Raya gets down easily to stop it.

It came from Raya's sloppy pass out but he recovered.

  3. CLOSE!published at ET 2 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

The first time Ollie Watkins has been put in, and it's a golden chance.

Sergi Canos takes up a position on the right and sweeps a beautiful cross into the middle, but he can't get a clean connection and it bobbles wide.

    Heartening threat for Brentford.

Sam: I honestly don't know which way this is going. I don't know about this game at all really. No positives.

d.dan:1927: Is there extra time, or straight to pens?

It's extra-time first up and if they're still level after 120 minutes, it'll be a penalty shootout to decide the winner.

FT: Brentford 0-0 Fulham - extra time to follow

All that time in lockdown we all said: "Won't it be great when football is back?"

I doubt we ever envisaged this. I take it all back.

It's absorbing but certainly not entertaining.

  7. FULL-TIMEpublished at 90 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Ninety minutes can't split these West London rivals. Can extra-time? That's where we're heading.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 90 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Shoddy set-piece from Said Benrahma. Out for a goal-kick.

Now it's Mitrotime. Serbia striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is on for Bobby Decordova-Reid.

    Fulham roll the dice.

  9. Postpublished at 90 mins

Normal time is up. Three minutes of added time.

Ollie Watkins wins a free-kick from Michael Hector.

Brentford set-piece in a good spot.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is now stretching inside the Fulham technical area.

Still with his training bib on. He's itching to enter the fray.

  11. Postpublished at 89 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

You could argue that with Mathias Jensen going into the book, we've had more cautions than shots on target. Can't be far off.

How are Thomas Frank or Scott Parker going to ignite this one? Hopefully extra-time will tease more out of these two.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 88 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Sergi Canos linked up nicely with Ollie Watkins but they couldn't create a chance.

At the other end, a ball through from Tom Cairney sets up a footrace between Mathias Jensen and Anthony Knockaert and the Fulham man goes down.

    Free-kick. Yellow card for Jensen.

I think we were all expectant because of how glorious Brentford have been, maybe we've got carried away.

Josh Onomah and Neeskens Kebano have been the catalyst for Fulham this season.

Without Aleksandar Mitrovic it gives them a flexibility, they look set in their positions early in the season and I saw that particularly in the first half.

Anthony Short: Really poor game so far, such a lack of quality. The magnitude of the occasion getting to both teams by the looks of it.

Darren W: Up there with one of the worst play-off finals. Both teams normally attacking but tonight both playing scared to lose.

Adam Howarth: The only thing exciting about this game is what’s at stake.

Mark G: This is a terrible, terrible game.

Fair to say that this final is not living up to it's expectations... so far.

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Josh Onomah gets another sighter away as his shot flies over the top.

Fulham creating chances, though not one you would call a 'gimme'.

Barring a miracle, this is heading for extra time.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 84 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Brentford bring on Sergi Canos for Josh Dasilva, a change which balances up the forward line a bit more.

Dasilva took one for the team but moving up after Bryan Mbeumo was withdrawn.

Aleksandar Mitrovic was originally stripped and ready to come on alongside Anthony Knockaert for Fulham.

Then the Serbia international was told to put his training bib back on.

Knockaert was a big signing for the Whites last summer, but hasn't quite shown the form which he did when Brighton were promoted from the Championship three years ago.

But he's capable of cutting in and netting spectacular goals with his left foot from distance.

  18. Postpublished at 83 mins

Aboubakar Kamara leaves himself offside to bring a halt to a promising Fulham burst.

Brentford respond with a thrust of their own, Rico Henry swinging a cross across the penalty area that Josh Dasilva recycles, but Henrik Dalsgaard's shot soars over.
