Again, Fulham have dug in, set up camp and Brentford continue to be thwarted in their bid to open up their opponents.

Said Benrahma gets to the byline down the left but his cross to the edge of the box is cleared.

Aboubakar Kamara gets on his bike down the right but Brentford in turn mob-up to defend.

    Is it Mitro time?

You have to keep moving, in a game like this you may get that one chance, but you have to keep going.

Aleksandar Mitrovic will be desperate to get on, when you are on the bench even when you're half fit, you are always thinking, once you hit the game feeling you almost forget that you are injured, you can see yourself getting into positions.

Darkness has descended over Wembley in the past hour or so. We'll be going a little later into the night if neither of these sides can find a winner in the next few minutes.

It's getting a bit testy now. More 50-50s, more snaps and snarls between the players. More shrieks from the benches.

Both teams pondering changes with just over quarter of an hour to go.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 70 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Ollie Watkins takes a pass from Mathias Jensen for Brentford, and from the edge of the box hits a vicious drive toward the top corner.

Marek Rodak tips it over at pace. The corner is wasted.

Fulham break down the right, Denis Odoi is flying, but Ethan Pinnock, who should have a dinner jacket on and perhaps a pipe in his mouth, coolly steps across and denies him.

You get the feeling this game may be destined for extra-time.

Fulham keeper Marek Rodak has barely had to make a save, and Emiliano Marcondes should have done better with that free-kick.

With so much at stake, both clubs might settle for an extra half hour in a bid to unlock their opponent's defence. One mistake or moment of quality could settle it now.

Fulham have been asking more questions this evening.

Emiliano Marcondes steps up and wellies the set-piece over the bar.

In his mind I'm sure that was going to be a Cristiano Ronaldo wobbler.

In the end it was more Peter Kay 'Have it'.

Drinks break time, but I doubt any bitter will be involved.

A chance for the managers to make what could be pivotal tactical changes as we enter the final quarter of this play-off final.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 66 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Josh Dasilva motors forward, and squares the ball to Mathias Jensen in space. He drifts a long ball into the left channel which Denis Odoi heads behind.

Corner to Brentford. Ethan Pinnock heads into the six-yard box and Joe Bryan clears behind for Fulham.

Another set-piece. Cleared, only as far as Brentford's Said Benrahma, and Tom Cairney slices him in half. Free-kick and a yellow card.

If you going to be called Neeskens, then you ought really to be a good player, so it's a good job Mr Kebano is.

He's given Rico Henry some trouble down the right at times, but this most recent time concedes a foul.

  12. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Emiliano Marcondes' first two touches have been to make tackles and blocks as Fulham yomp forward down the left.

Joe Bryan powers in a corner which Michael Hector attacks at the near post but the Brentford sub is there once again to put the Jamaica defender off.

    All-action stuff.

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Brentford have the ball in the Fulham half and they're facing what you might call an umbrella defence - the players lined in an arc, or an arrowhead in front of them.

    It's hard to break through.

Now the change has been made, Bryan Mbeumo had just put the ball out of play and is replaced by Emiliano Marcondes. Wasn't really Mbeumo's night.

  14. CLOSE!published at 58 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

    Fulham come close again!

Bobby Decordova-Reid tries to swivel onto a bouncing, loose cross in the Brentford penalty area but his shot sails just wide of the right post.

Brentford were static at the back and almost paid the price.

Emiliano Marcondes getting the last tactics briefing before coming on, while sat on the Bees bench.

Bryan Mbeumo is the player anticipated to make way.

    Brentford enjoying a purple patch.

  16. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Brentford working overtime to try to create opportunities, as Said Benrahma chugs down the left and slides the ball to Mathias Jensen in the box, but a heavy touch allows Fulham to clear.

Then another cross, swung in by the Algerian, is headed away by Ream, and a third effort by Bryan Mbeumo loops behind for Fulham's goal kick.

Lewis Wright: Whoever plays the best earns the right to be in the Premier League end of story!!! Great game for a neutral!!!!

Thomas Smith: Fulham play football like they’re 1-0 up. No counter attacking. Slow everything down. Get over the halfway line and the wingers turn around and pass backwards. Kind of hoping Brentford score so Fulham have to speed it up.

Stu: I can see this play-off final going to extra time and penalties.

Kyle: I still think that the Brentford front three will be the difference and they will edge it in the end but Fulham have marginally had the better of the first half. Had they had a fit Mitrovic they would probably be ahead by now.

Steve James: Hope Brentford do it, nothing against Fulham, but Brentford have been the Bridesmaid so many times in the last few years, now it’s their time, C’mon the Bees.

Josh Dasilva tries to play through the lines for Brentford but his slide rule pass is cut out by the alert Tim Ream and Fulham can clear.

Ollie Watkins' movement was good but the pass telegraphed.

If you've ever played the Football Manager series of computer games, you'll be used to seeing the phrase 'Half the ground thought it was in!' when a shot hits the side-netting.

A few Fulham club staff sat close to me in the media seats were starting to celebrate that one.

Neeskens Kebano has been a free-kick specialist in recent weeks and that is pretty much as close as we have come to breaking the deadlock.

Brentford dangerman Said Benrahma meanders his way into the box with a slalomy run but his attempt to cross is blocked and his appeals for a free-kick are ignored.

The Bees have retained posess... no they haven't. Fulham pinch it back.

They need some ball and Fulham are starving them of it.
