    Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

In the 13 FA Cup finals at the new Wembley Stadium, only once has the team who scored the opening goal lost in the regulation 90 minutes: Everton's 2-1 defeat against Chelsea in 2008-09 after Louis Saha had given the Toffees a first-minute lead.

Hull City (2013-14) and Crystal Palace (2015-16) both went on to lose in extra time.

    Clever? Cheating? Red card?

The goal stands - this one didn't mind.

    Chris Sutton
Premier League winner on BBC Radio 5 Live

Let's not mess around. It was a dive [for the penalty]. It's cheating.

  8. 'Aubameyang was clever'published at 18:29 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang has got the wrong side of Cesar Azpilicueta for the penalty. I've seen it a number of times. He waits until he is inside the box before he goes down. It was clever play. There was enough in it to give it.

You can hear what the managers are hearing without fans and that detail can get into the players a bit easier.

Arteta identified to put the ball into space early and it worked.

All Arsenal are doing are playing is Wimbledon hoof the ball forward football and Chelsea's defence can't handle it. Lampard needs to sell probably at least 5 of the starting 11 during the break.

    Keith, London

I don't know why Chelsea are going to spend another £100m or so on Havertz. Werner and Ziyech are good enough attacking additions. It's their defence they desperately need to improve.

  12. 'A wonderful goal'published at 18:24 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

    Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

    Alan Shearer
Former Newcastle captain on BBC One

Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic got in so close to Olivier Giroud at the start and they got joy from it.

Touch, pass, move - Arsenal couldn't handle that. It's a wonderful goal.

  13. 'Arsenal got back in it'published at 18:23 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

    Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

    Ian Wright
Former Arsenal striker on BBC One

Chelsea started really quickly but the space was behind them and you had to do it quickly. We realised halfway through the half and got back in it!

  14. 'Chelsea need to regroup'published at 18:22 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

    Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

    Chris Sutton
Premier League winner on BBC Radio 5 Live

Frank Lampard will want half-time to regroup. Arsenal were not in the game before the drinks break.

    Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

    Alan Shearer
Former Newcastle captain on BBC One

Arsenal came right back into it after the drinks break, they went direct with the balls over the top and that is where the space is. Arsenal exploited that.

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:21 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

    Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

One of my footballing golden rules is bad defending = good matches.

And that was a very watchable first half for a major cup final.

  17. 'Hands on head'published at 18:17 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

    Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

    Chris Sutton
Premier League winner on BBC Radio 5 Live

Mikel Arteta was right behind that free-kick in his technical area. He's got his hands on his head.

  18. CLOSE!published at 45 mins

    Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

Alexandre Lacazette puts it all behind the free-kick, smashes it to Willy Caballero's left but it flies wide. The keeper didn't move but I think he had it covered. Wasn't a Kepa 'didn't move.'

Paul: If there's one thing that Chelsea need improve its their defence. I mean for all the stick we (arsenal) get defensively they've let more goals in than us in the league. It's not hard see why both of us let goals in.

  20. 'Chelsea have lost composure'published at 18:15 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

    Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

    Chris Sutton
Premier League winner on BBC Radio 5 Live

What a response by Arsenal. Chelsea cannot get up the pitch. The contrast from Chelsea is staggering. They have really lost their composure.
